It’s time for another week of Inspire Me Monday! I share stuff that’s inspiring me (along with stuff from the weekend usually) and you can link-up your own posts and/or check out all of the inspiration linked up! This week I’m sharing some awesomely tasty cold treats for summer that I found in last week’s link-up!
Monday Thoughts and New Routines
Is it really Monday, again?? Back to the grind!
Really, I don’t feel like I ever have a weekend so I feel silly saying stuff like that (as in two days in a row of being lazy..but does anyone really have that?). I have been consistently working at the café on Saturdays and I work on the blog(s)…daily! (<-funny note: when I did the “s” in parenthesis, it changed into a moon on windows live writer. weird.)
I’m not complaining though. For the most part, I’m getting back into somewhat of a groove.
And of course now that I’m in a groove..my schedule is changing haha. Life.
I am starting to open the café this week…which means BEING there at 5am. Leaving the house at 4:30am. Why is getting up that early even allowed?? At least traffic will be awesome, right??
I’m also going to try something new out on the days that I open: blogging at a coffee shop and yoga.
The Plan: Getting Back into Yoga
There’s a yoga for beginners class twice a week in the evenings at the gym I work at and since it’s about a 20-30 minute drive, my eight hour shift ends at 1pm, I decided I’d try to stay in the area and work at a coffee shop so that I wouldn’t be tempted to stay at home (with the excuse of “I don’t want to spend potentially an hour of drive time for an hour of yoga”).
It will make for a long day—being out of the house from 4:30am to probably 8:30pm–but the next day I get to stay home, so I think I can do it!
I’d really like to get some consistent type of workout back into my routine. I was walking outside a few days a week, but it’s been getting so blasted hot here! (<-and I’m a wimp and find no fun in turning into a sweaty mess after a mile walk. who wants to shower more than once in a day?? )
We will see what happens this week!
Thank You!
Thank you to everyone who entered the Soybu Workout Clothes Giveaway!
I think this was one of my highest participating giveaways yet, which of course makes me really happy.
I was also tickled when the winner actually tweeted about how excited she was to have won. Not that this is something a winner HAS to do, but I can tell you sometimes it feels like the winner isn’t appreciative at all. (and I almost want to take back giving them the prize. I know. that’s awful, but I can’t help to want to feel a little appreciated for all of the work that goes into hosting a giveaway!)
So again, thanks everyone! I’m going to try to keep doing a giveaway each month to say thanks to you lovely readers.
7 Tasty Cold Treats for Summer
Going through last week’s link-up submissions, I found a ton of cold treats—from ice cream to slushies to popsicles. Seeing how it’s been a million degrees PLUS humidity here in Nebraska, all of these sounded amazing and perfect for summer.
Also, it was National Ice Cream Day yesterday…so only a day late!
Hopefully it will go over a little better than last week’s ranch recipe round-up. LOL Apparently people don’t look for ranch recipes. I didn’t get any feedback or social shares at least, so I take it that the round-up wasn’t super popular. Noted. (you never know until you try!)
1. No Churn Bubblegum Icecream by Cincy Shopper
I mean come on. This looks amazing.
2. Breakfast Popsicles by The Classy Chapter
These are adorable and definitely kid friendly. (<-I say this because there is an adorable shot of her daughter taste-testing.)
3. Strawberry Cheesecake Icecream by Urban Girl Bakes
I really want those ice cream dishes! With the ice cream in it, of course.
4. Homemade Cherry Slurpie by Kleinworth & Co
I remember when I was a kid we would walk about a mile to the gas station and buy a treat with whatever scraped together money we had. I loved buying an ice cold slushie to slurp down on the way home. Memories.
5. 4 Ingredient Lime Sorbet by Cincy Shopper
I’ve never made sorbet before, have you? This would probably be a better alternative to my lactose-sensitive stomach.
6. Strawberry Banana Popsicles by Love Grows Wild
I honestly couldn’t figure out which photo to use..they all look amazing!! I love the semi-healthy popsicle recipes. I really need to look for a popsicle mold.
7. Double Chocolate Frozen Banana Soft Serve by Diary of a Semi-Health Nut
This need to happen again ASAP.
