How is your week going?
Mine’s pretty alright. Filled with Chemistry homework, a nice red run, working on my Recipage Page and some much-needed Gilmore Girls time after saying good-bye to the BF yet again as he travels around with the railroad (if we were married, the railroad would be his mistress…sometimes I hate her!).
Since it is Wednesday (WIAW day) and I have not yet shared with you the gingerbread extravaganza with Sis R from last week…I’ve decided to change it up a little.
Because, let’s face it, sometimes I get bored with doing the same thing every week.
I’ve decided to simply share with you some of the random eats I’ve had over the past week. I got the best Christmas present everrr, a fancy shmancy camera so I take pictures of, well, everything.
Mac n Peas (post): Easy mac, peas and baked spicy chicken. Rarely do I go a week without easy mac. So quick and you can mix it up so many ways!
Chicken Scampi with a Kick (post): Leftover scampi noodles with peas, grilled chicken and azian zing sauce. Spicy deliciosity!!
Cuties: Gotta get your vitamin C right? These guys are super sweet and juicy…and I don’t even like oranges!
Ginormous Turkey Sammich: Whole wheat bread, deli turkey (free from the BF who was going out of town…score!), spinach, jalapeno-jack cheese, sweet baby ray’s sandwich sauce. (I think I like spicy foods.) Don’t forget the side of carrot chips!!
Christmas nostalgia: Ghiradelli peppermint bark. I’ve been savoring these babies…I think I have a couple left. These really help with Chemistry homework (actually I think this was nutrition homework, chapter one…I can see where I was writing how many calories per gram protein, carbs, and fats are. Love nutrition class.).
I bought many many baking items for Christmas this past year. I made sugar cookies, peanutbutter truffles, chocolate covered oreos..the list goes on. I also bought a gingerbread making kit. Because what says Christmas more than a good gingerbread house?
After all that baking and eating of delicious grandma treats…I was not too excited about making anything sweet and that would involve a mess. So this kit sat in my kitchen, along with decorations I was going to use on the little houses until last Thursday evening when I got to babysit my youngest sister R.
I’m super proud of our houses. What do you think?
We had some leftover frosting and I thought of my childhood when my mom would put leftover frosting on graham crackers and I would sneak bites when she wasn’t looking. Chocolate frosting on cinnamon graham crackers= the best combo. Alas, I had no graham crackers, but I did have some ritz.
These were quite yummy if I do say so myself!
I better get some fuel in me for my scheduled 2-mile run today. Have a great mid-week day everyone! 🙂
What brought you to my blog today? If you’re new, drop me a line…I’d love to meet you! 🙂
