Thanksgiving is only a week away, so it’s high time we figured out what Thanksgiving side dishes we are bringing to the party. If you’re like me, someone else is usually in charge of the main show, so you get to either bring a side or a dessert.
My grandma K goes nuts when it comes to desserts (like creating 15 different kinds), so I can either bring yet another dessert to add to the pile (which I will admit, I do on occasion), OR I can figure out a side to bring to Thanksgiving. I hope this round-up helps you as much as it helps me!
So…let’s chat.
I feel like I’ve neglected this space lately (at least with new content), but there is kind of a big reason…
I started a third blog.
HA.
Call me crazy, but I started a freaking third blog. And I’m really excited about it because the main focus is helping out newbie bloggers! I started to realize I was spending a lot of time messing with behind-the-scenes stuff and as a result have gotten pretty good with WordPress styling. I also saw a need from new bloggers who didn’t know how to do a lot of things like set up a new theme (or just didn’t want to) AND those looking for advice, so Amanda Loves Blogging was born.
I feel like I keep disclaiming this, but don’t make fun of the name. I swear I spent an hour trying to come up with a domain name that had blogging in it that wasn’t already taken..and kept failing. I knew I didn’t want a dot org or dot net, so I randomly typed in amandalovesblogging.com and boom. Not taken.
I’m kind of giddy excited about all of this right now because I posted to Instagram yesterday (which also feeds into my Facebook) about this and I got a much bigger response than anticipated! Check the ALB site for specifics, but I am offering discounts for a limited number of bloggers in exchange for a review of my services. (75% off for the next 3 bloggers, 50% off for the next 3 after that and 25% off for the last 3 beta testers…I think I will have enough practice by then!)
#mythankfulthursday
Another reason I might have been absent? I have a link-up going this month on my second blog, The iLOVE Project.
It’s actually going all month long (a continual link-up, so the sooner you’re in, the more times your link will be displayed if that makes sense) and each week, me and miss Katie share something we are focusing on that we are thankful for. The first week it was my family, the second, it was my health. I’m picking things that I tend to take for granted to focus on for the week and it’s really helping with my overall attitude. Which is of course a good thing!
I did a bunch of these posts on DSHN back in the day if you want to dig into the archives (it goes back to 2011, friends. crazy.):
Anyways, I know I’m kind of focusing on a lot of different things right now (I mean I still have a job outside of the house AND Dave and I are looking for houses, plus just living life), but I promise I’m working on a balance to keep this blog, my obsession/passion going strong!
8 Semi-Healthy Thanksgiving Side Dishes
Okay let’s face it..these are mostly healthy dishes since I got a lot of these from my blogging friends who are mainly composed of healthy living bloggers. I mean there isn’t anything semi-healthy about kale salad.
These thanksgiving side dishes all look like things that I would eat and that I could probably bring to Thanksgiving to feed my meat-and-potato Nebraska family, so that was the requirement. Not TOO healthy, not TOO indulgent. Sound good?

I should be back next week with a recipe (fingers crossed), but if not, have a lovely Thanksgiving, friends!
[ BTW I still check comments and social media pretty much daily (errr multiple times daily), it’s just the actual producing of a post that takes more concentrated effort and is happening more like once a week now. ]
Tell me….
Which thanksgiving side dish are you most likely to bring to the party? Are you more of a side-dish bringer or a dessert bringer? I personally would prefer to bring a semi-healthy dessert.
PS I’m all about Pinterest this year, so I would LOVE IT if you could pin one (or two!) of these images. Just hover over the image to reveal the “pin it” button or use the handy dandy buttons at the bottom and top of each post to display the whole list of pins.
