No, not a break from fitness…although some people could use that too!
I notice during the school year, I can get so into my homework/studying/facebooking-when-I’m-supposed-to-be-doing-homework-and-studying, that I sit for too long and get sore.
It’s recommended that people working at a desk get up once every hour…and that counts for sitting in front of the television and laptop too!
My nutrition classes are all basically telling me (what we all know) that the obesity epidemic in America is getting worse each year. In fact, the percentage of overweight and obese people in the US has DOUBLED since the 1930s. A large factor in this equation is our sedentary lifestyle and the ease of which we can complete tasks that were once very physical. We can improve our lives significantly if we just remember to move each day.
You can set a simple timer to remind you to get up and move each hour.
Sometimes I actually multi-task and do my workout inbetween studying. I know.
I haven’t done this in awhile and I really need to get back into it on days when I know I won’t do a full workout.
I just write down a few different workouts and mark how many times I’ve completed each (because I like to see how much I’ve accomplished).
Speaking of working out…it is about time I did a workout today. I was going to go for a walk with the little babe I watch on Tuesdays and Thursdays but she slept forever! (not complaining!!) I’m going to get on the treadclimber for a little bit while watching How I Met Your Mother on Netflix. (I’m addicted.)
Let’s get some movement in each day, shall we?

How can you make sure you move every day?
What was the last thing you watched on Netflix?

I love this idea. At first i thought you were going to blog about taking a break from fitness (which I need to post about yet), but this is a great idea for those who are busy.

haha yes it goes both ways.

I’m trying to think of ways to keep moving at work… sometimes it is just walking paperwork over to another department or building even though it is not urgent. And last thing I watched on Netflix was Freaks and Geeks!

Good thinking walking the paperwork!! I have never watched freaks and geeks but maybe that should be next on my watch list! 🙂
