This recipe also has coffee and bananas but it also includes chocolate! Chocolate quite frequently makes an appearance in my breakfasts because..why the heck not?  Avocado Green Tea Power Shake via All Day I Dream About Food

I absolutely love adding avocado to my smoothies. I would have never tried it though before working at the café and adding them to hundreds of smoothies over the past year! I have never, however, tried the matcha green tea powder so that’s definitely on the list!

It doesn’t really matter the season, pumpkin spice is tasty and healthy (hello fiber!) no matter what!

Here’s another fabulous pumpkin protein shake except this one has chai tea! I’m a huge fan of chai tea with all the yummy spices (and of course the caffeination!). (note: the blogger changed her blog’s name since this photo)

This recipe uses actual mint leaves, not just mint extract. That’s serious business right there. How cute is that blog name btw? Like OMG. Winking smile Seriously, I wish I was that creative when it came to picking out a blog name. Mine came out of not wanting the pressure of calling myself a “health nut” and I think I even plugged some key words into a blog name generator. Super creative, Amanda.

Okay, I realize that there is also a very similar recipe above, but I am so intrigued by the fact that this photo got pinned 4k+ times. It looks awesome, but it’s simply a close-up shot of the smoothie before it’s blended and the shot is doubled. Filing this away for future foodie use!

..because coffee cake. In a protein shake. But it’s healthy. I always wonder if these recipes really taste like “coffee cake” or whatever treat they are supposed to be emulating. Sounds pretty interesting to me with the flaxseed meal and oatmeal!

Why not add some raspberry to your mocha? I remember working at my coffee catering job a couple of years ago (can’t believe it’s been that long!) and my favorite drink was a raspberry mocha latte. We always busted out the raspberry around Valentine’s Day for the pretty pink color. (speaking of which…eep Valentine’s Day is so close!) While we’re at the berries and coffee…

I can tell you from experience that adding berries to coffee and delicious protein makes for a decadent smoothie experience. Bonus: this post has a bunch of barista words if you need to brush up in your coffee shop lingo.


Banana Chai Breakfast Shake via Oh My Veggies

We actually have a special at the café called the banana chai and it is so. good! I might have to make it tomorrow in fact because my mouth is watering thinking about the sweet and spice perfectly harmonizing into one decadent protein shake. You never knew smoothies and shakes were this serious, did you? PS Why are there so many straws in this picture? Who would share a shake like this??

This delightful drink also has flaxseed and almond milk. Woot. And with that epic description..I’m off to bed!

After I put Miss Zoey to bed. And painfully listen to her pitiful “mews” at being put in our fairly large bathroom with a zillion toys, food and a plush fuzzy cat bed. It’s hard being a fluffy adorable kitten! You can see more yummy smoothie and coffee creations on my pinterest boards! Can you tell I’m obsessed with the them?  

Eat and move happy! use this one amandaTell me…. Are you more of a coffee drinker or a protein shake drinker? Or a caffeinated protein shake drinker? Smile  Have you ever had a kitten? Did he or she drive you bonkers and at the same time completely melt your heart?

    Caffeinated protein shakes?! That would be the perfect breakfast!!! haha I’ve never tried something like that but it sounds awesome!

    YUM! I’m expecting my next bag of Skoop in the mail any day now and can’t wait to try a few of these out… anything to break the terrible Starbucks habit a few Christmas giftcards started 😮

    MMM so many yummy looking shakes! During my marathon training, i started making a coffee infused protein shake. I don’t know why, but it just felt right LOL

    I have a 9 month old who thinks night time isn’t for sleeping, so I have been living on Starbuck’s Double Shot Energy drinks. These look SOO much better, definitely going to be giving them a try 🙂

      Yes these would be wayy better! Some of them already include things like flaxseed and avocado, but the cool things is that when you’re making your own shake..you can add all the healthy things! 🙂

      Man hopefully your little one figures out night time is bedtime! I get so cranky when I don’t get sleep so I feel for ya!

    Oh.my.gosh. I cannot tell you how madly in love I am with this collection. I need these in my life, like yesterday! My sleep schedule has been whacked as well … and coffee has been my IV … and yeah, let’s be honest, bags of chocolate chips too 😉 Love this collection!

      haha YES to the chocolate chips! I’m pretty sure half of the bags I get go directly into my mouth before going into a recipe!

      I’m about to whip up a coffee shake to take on the road with me! 🙂
