Caffeinated protein shakes are the perfect way to start your day, fuel before a run or drink up after a hard workout. They give you a boost and have that extra staying power of protein. Basically your morning joe on steroids—without the negative effects of roids. The caffeine from all of these drool-worthy protein shakes come from natural sources like coffee and tea which as a bonus give you a boost of antioxidants.

Although this post is sponsored by Foodie, all opinions about the awesomeness of caffeinated protein shakes are my own.
I have a pretty wacky schedule. Sometimes I open the café at 5:30am (meaning I have an alarm going off at 4 in the dark of the morning). Sometimes I close the café and don’t have to be in until 2 in the afternoon (meaning I can sleep in wayyy later than 4am). And then there are those days when I don’t have to go into the café at all and decide to stay up until crazy hours and then still try to get my 8 hours of sleep in (slash overcompensate for the lack of sleep for the past couple of days). So basically my waking hour tends to change quite frequently.
I know it’s good to be on a consistent sleep/wake schedule, but that’s much easier said than done with my random café hours. No matter when I wake up though, I start my day off the same. With a big cup of java. It’s funny though because although I LOVE my coffee, I tend to drink it so slowly. I’m just a slow drinker overall though. (I’m often accused of “nursing” my alcoholic drinks. Oh well.)
Since I drink it slowly, it tends to get cold. When it gets cold, I whip up a protein shake as a mid-morning snack or as a post-workout drink. It’s quite convenient to do this at work with a plethora of protein, fruits and tasty add-ins (plus easy to clean blenders…), but I’ve also got quite a few things on hand at home—including my SKOOP protein powder (<-aka the tastiest vegan protein in existence. also that’s an affiliate link in case you’d like to buy yourself some!).
So this post is quite fitting and will be very helpful for the next time I let my coffee get cold! Here are 12 tasty options for whipping up your own caffeinated protein smoothies! I can’t wait to try all of these!!

I have a 9 month old who thinks night time isn’t for sleeping, so I have been living on Starbuck’s Double Shot Energy drinks. These look SOO much better, definitely going to be giving them a try 🙂
Amanda @ Diary of a Semi-Health Nut
Yes these would be wayy better! Some of them already include things like flaxseed and avocado, but the cool things is that when you’re making your own shake..you can add all the healthy things! 🙂
Man hopefully your little one figures out night time is bedtime! I get so cranky when I don’t get sleep so I feel for ya!
