This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Foodie for Bliss.com. All opinions are 100% mine as per usual.
Have you ever used the Foodie site? It’s kind of like Pinterest but all FOOD. Which obviously makes it totally amazing, right?
I think I tried to use Foodie at one point, but got confused on how to actually post to it and gave up. I thought I’d help everyone else out with a couple of tips since I just revisited the site to find some yummy fruit salad recipes:
How to Use Foodie:
- Add the Bookmarklet found on the homepage (photo below “Add Bookmarklet”).
- Go to any website with a recipe (it has to have a recipe, not just a pretty photo).
- Click the Bookmarklet that was installed and add that recipe to a recipe collection. You will have to create one if it’s your first time using Foodie.
- When browsing Foodie, click on the “+” button below the photo to add it to any of your recipe collections.
- “Love” something by clicking the heart button below the photo.
- If you’ve made the recipe, click on the check mark and fill out a review and/or add your own photo!
- Follow me here!
I also never saw the real benefit to this site, but it definitely has some real potential now that I have worked with it for a few hours.
Why to Use Foodie:
- A site specifically for recipes and restaurants. The bookmarklet will only allow photos that come with recipes which means a greater chance that the photos come from the original site (a huge problem on other photo based sites).
- There is also a section for restaurants (I will be honest I haven’t completely figured it out) that has potential for being a great resource for restaurant selection.
- You can create collections and turn them into slideshows to put on your blog!
I created one of these collections with some delightful looking summer fruit salads. You may not know this, but I haven’t always been a fan of many fruits. Especially berries. I didn’t even used to like strawberries. Why? I wasn’t eating them in season. We would just go to the grocery store and buy whatever we felt like instead of picking what was in season. I can’t say I’m perfect at knowing what is in season, but I do know that many fruits are in season in the summer!
It’s that time of the year when there are so many fresh fruits available for great prices and I intend to take advantage of that this year. All of these summer fruit salad recipes I collected get me excited to eat fresh summer fruits. I think Dave would even eat most of these. ๐
PLUS fruit salads are quick to throw together if you do a little food prep beforehand.

You know what else happens in the summer?
Trips to Nebraska where I can hang out with my nephew and watch him run outside. I can’t handle the cuteness!!
And more fun to come! Gotta love SUMMER!!
Check out Foodie and let me know what you think! For bonus points, create your own collection and link it in the comments! ๐
What is your favorite fruit to eat in the summer? I think mine is cantaloupe. I need to find a melon baller ASAP!
Are you planning on any trips back home this summer?
