WIAW #86 Chipotle Pepper Obsessed + Crockpot Chili Recipe

November 27, 2013 by Amanda R DeWitt

I think I have a problem. I might need help.

You see I can’t get enough of this one spicy pepper. The chipotle pepper.

I like chipotle on my fries.

I like chipotle on my Beanitos bean chips.

I enjoy the chipotle chicken quesadillas at my cafe job paired with a salad drizzled in chipotle dressing.

I even like Chipotle as the name of one of my favorite restaurants (which Dave and I consume on a weekly basis).

I took this infatuation a step further by adding it to some amazing crockpot chicken chili.

I let this stew a couple of weekends ago as I was doing some article writing and let me tell you…it was hard not to dig in before Dave got home!! I did resist, but then you better bet I ate those leftovers every night until they were gone! I might have also sprinkled in some of the chipotle Beanitos from above for an extra kick. It made my nose run but I kept eating it.

What do you think? Do I have a problem?

Don’t forget to join the last Thankful Thursday link-up tomorrow! Dave and I are headed to good ol’ Nebraska this evening so the post should be scheduled and ready to post early in the morning!

Tell me…

What foods are you obsessed with right now?

Do you eat spicy foods even though your nose runs/forehead sweats/tongue feels like it’s on fire? (PS the recipe isn’t THAT spicy. Don’t worry.)

I like Chipotle the restaurant but otherwise I fear the word…remember that chipotle salad I got from Native Foods cafe? MY MOUTH WAS ON FIRE!!! 😉

I love Beanitos! They’re so good but I can’t find them here in California. I used to buy them in Texas when I lived there.

I’ve heard spicy food speeds up your metabolism so I’d say it’s a good problem to have. 😉

That looks so good- and anything spicy is even better. Chipotle is one of the things I miss most about the US! Have a great Thanksgiving!

Wait do you mean you don’t have Chipotle the restaurant or chipotle peppers in Australia??

We went to Chilis the other night and I ordered the crispy chicken tacos (so sad they took away my beloved grilled BLT tacos), but they had a chipotle sauce on them that I wasn’t expecting. So amazing, nose runs and all 🙂

This looks incredibly delicious! I love Crockpot meals in the winter. I just hate cleaning that darn heavy thing!

Seriously weird, I was JUST thinking about you and you are my most recent comment on the blog!!

I love Chili’s! I got the shrimp tacos the last time we went and they were super spicy!! I thought maybe the waitress rang up the spicy shrimp tacos instead because they were different than I remembered. Gotta love the spicy runny nose!

I didn’t realize this right away, but my Crockpot has a removable part you can take out to clean. You should see if yours has one! Makes it MUCH easier!! 🙂
