Today I am procrastinating packing for my trip to the Nebraska State Shoot.
Yep. That’s right.
Am I shooting flying disks this week in hopes for a prize shell bag? Hahaha…no. The BF is!
He is actually quite a good shooter. (Is that what you call it?) He has won almost all of the awards that you can at this particular shoot. He didn’t get to go last year because of his new job, so he is VERY excited about this year.
The very first time I saw his serious face was a couple of months after we had started dating at this particular event.
His mom, Betty, told me to just give him his space and let him come to me. (Instead of running up and hugging him I guess?) I remember thinking, what the heck are you talking about lady? But I saw a different Dave when he was out there with his gun by his side. A very focused, thoughtful, concentrated version of the goofball I knew and loved.
Two years ago at the Nebraska State Shoot. His dad, Bob, is on the left…smiling!! |
Something else I remember from that day was the fact that his mom kept introducing me as “Dave’s friend.” Nice, Betty.
In my procrastination, I am going to share with you all of the food pictures I took on Monday as my WIAW. (Never heard of WIAW? Click here for the WIAW details!)
{Breakfast: 9am}: Peanutbutter and jelly on new whole wheat honey toast.
I got this loaf at the farmer’s market I worked at this weekend…after I sat under a tent for an hour waiting for the rain to pass.
{Snack} Had some flour tortilla chips (also from the farmer’s market) while I made some delightful carrot muffin-cakes (post to come).
{Lunch: 2pm} Leftover Chili’s Explosion Salad from Father’s Day lunch. I heated up the chicken and quesadillas in the toaster oven about 10 minutes and then sprinkled parmesan cheese on top.
{Pre-work snack: 4pm} I wasn’t quite hungry enough for a meal before work…so I had the rest of a berry smoothie I made a couple of days before, froze it, and thawed it while I was having lunch.
{Work snack: 9pm} Mini clif bar. I was introduced to these lovely creations by my Foodie Penpal last month!
{Dinner at work: 10:30pm} My friend shared half of her boneless parmesan garlic wings…so I probably had 2 1/2. They tasted AMAZING. It’s no surprise that people tend to gain weight when they start working at a restaurant.

{Late night snack: 12am} As if the 10:30pm dinner wasn’t late..ha! I was STILL hungry when I got home, most likely from all the walking around at work all night…waiting tables. That is the only logical explanation right? You can also see why my WIAW breakfasts tend to start at 9am…working late means sleeping late. 😉
So I had my bedtime tea, Peanutbutter cheerios and some trail mix.
Oh I also taste-tested one of these carrot muffin-cakes at some point. So. Good!
Day’s evaluation:
- I am very surprised at how much food I actually ate. I felt like I really didn’t eat a whole lot. Very interesting.
- I’m also glad I got SOME fruit in…since that is something I struggle with.
- I have no idea how much Diet Dew I had. This is a potential problem…
Well, it is time to get my laundry out of the dryer. I seriously debated on running it a little longer and hanging out in the blogosphere a little while…but it’s time to get to work! (Come on, you’ve done this before right??) I need to figure out four outdoor-blazing-sun outfits that I don’t mind getting dirty. Can you feel my excitement?
Have a happy, blessed and productive day friends!
What are your strengths and weaknesses in daily eating?
Have you ever worked at a restaurant? Did you eat the unhealthy food or bring your own?
P.S. How do you like my new blog look? Too girl? I really want to know what YOU think! 😉
