It’s Friday! And unlike most people I am not trying to just make it through the day…I have the day off! I do, however work tomorrow at the Farmer’s Market and my babysitting job.
So I am trying to enjoy this lovely, if rainy, day.
On the agenda is getting my Foodie Pen Pal box together and mail it out. I am doing something homemade, however I can’t decide what to do. I made those Double Chocolate Whole Wheat Cookies last week…intending some of those to go into the box. Nope. Only one left.
I have a nice list for my Friday Five Foodie Finds this week. Maybe I will use one of these recipes?
When I first started doing these posts, I would search for recipes with the intention of putting them in my post so that I could post every single week. Now I am much more laid back and just let it happen. This means I might only post every 2 or 3 weeks, but these are recipes that I truely drooled over and want to try out.
Cookies are my favorite. Soft cookies make my mouth happy. These look amazing and as usual, Katie made these healthier than a usual cookie. If she hadn’t already established the most awesome healthy baking blog, I would probably start one similar. But for some reason, I feel like I can’t hold a candle to some of her recipes. She actually recently got contacted by a “major publisher” to write a cook book. I am jealous of the publisher part but I really don’t think I would want to have the pressure of writing a cook book. Some other sort of book, yes. 😉
Jenn shares her yummy recipes with such charm that sometimes I just want to sit and drool and read her blog all day. Plus her photography is so creative…it makes me want to set up my own photo corner in the house and buy massive amounts of dishes and accessories for awesome foodie photos. But alas I dream…
Sarah is a fellow Blend attendee. I knew I liked her when she walked over to a large group of us (awkwardly) conversing and says, “Hey I’m Sarah, take a card!” and proceeded to charm us all with her humor and outgoing personality. This humor really shows in her blog and I would probably read it even if there weren’t any good foodie recipes…but there are! Bonus!
Another Blend…we actually stayed in the same cabin!

This post actually has not only this deliciously spicy chicken recipe, but also shows you how to make your very own fruit popsicles. This sounds like the perfect, healthy summer meal.
Dena also commented that if I added my Double Chocolate Whole Wheat Cookie recipe that it would, in fact, be the perfect meal. Who am I to argue? 😉
So are we seeing a theme here? Three cookie recipes?? This recipe is adapted from a Betty Crocker cookbook. It got me all nostalgic and thinking about cooking from my mom’s Betty Crocker. Really I think we only made pancakes and biscuits out of it, but I remember that we could flip right to the pancake page because there was so much…love and use on the page.
Well it’s time to get moving. It’s so gloomy outside though that I just want to sit on my couch with some hot tea and watch Modern Family. Wait, that is basically what I’m doing…
Have a blessed Friday everyone!
What’s your favorite dessert?
Do you have a normal work schedule, or are you like me…you don’t really have the weekend off?
