{WIAW} Eating on the Go

November 16, 2011 by Amanda R DeWitt

Happy Wednesday bloggie friends!

Hope you are having a good week and if not…it’s half-way over! 🙂

Thanks for stopping by on W.I.A.W. (What. I. Ate. Wednesday)!

It’s time again for me to share with you all everything that fueled this body during one day’s time.

Are you ready?

I made a fun collage (inspired by Peas and Crayons, who also inspired WIAW) of all the food I ate Monday.

Fun right?  This makes me think of my scrap-booking days.  I used to be an avid scrapper…taking up the entire living room with all of my paper, scissors, pictures, stencils…but alas I hardly ever print pictures anymore!  Can anyone relate??  It just goes on my laptop and/or on Facebook.

Here’s a little how my day and eats went:

Breakfast {8:30am}: Kashi Blueberry Waffles (again), *new* Peanutbutter with Flaxseed, and grandma jelly, with vitamins, bottle of water and some delish coffee with my new peppermint mocha creamer (tis the season!)

Lunch {2pm}: (Do not ask how I went this long…I had class until 12: 15 and then must have gotten side-tracked.  Generally I try to eat every 3 to 4 hours for a productive metabolism!) Turkey sandwich with lettuce, bean sprouts, and some baked lays bbq chips in the middle of the sammich.  Plus bottle of water.  MMmmm!

Snackaroo {3pm}: (Did I mention the sandwich from above was only a half-sandwich leftover?  Well that may justify having a snack an hour later. 😉 )  Hershey’s dark chocolate with Peanutbutter with Flaxseeds dipping sauce.

This helped get me through some homework I had to do before leaving for work at 4:30.  Nothing helps get through frustrating Algebra problems like CHOCOLATE!  Yes?

Dinner: I packed a variety of things to bring with me to my wings-n-beer job because there was no way I was eating a full meal at 4pm, having eaten such a late lunch.

I packed string cheese and crackers and carrot chips {4:30pm eat}, fiber one bar which I ate when I was so hungry I was shaky…not that I had much of a choice with work.. {10pm eat} and a banana which I ate later {11:30pm} with some MORE Peanutbutter with Flaxseeds (obsessed) and mini chocolate chips (leftover from Sugar and Spice and Everything Awesome Cookie).

And don’t forget the mug of coffee I brought and drank at 9pm (and was still sleepy).  And the two bottles of water I chugged at work!

Kinda looks like a smile right?

The nanner and nutbutter sandwich may be my new favorite late-night snack…I am totally munching on one now.  Although tonight, I thought I’d be fancy (and less messy) by cutting up the banana more and eating the pieces with a toothpick.  Worked out quite nicely.

Food for the Day Evaluation:
Eventually I would like to break down my food into calories and nutrient intake…but alas I am too busy tonight to do that.  For now I will give you some generals on my fuel intake today. 🙂

What I Liked:

  • Good water intake
  • Good protein intake

What I can Improve:

  • More fruits and veggies
  • Making sure I don’t get side-tracked when I need to be putting food in my body
  • Being a mindful eater (I’m such a multi-tasker!)
Hope your mid-week day is delightful and that you found some food ideas here!  Have a blessed week!

P.S. Let’s be thankful together!  Tis the season with Thanksgiving coming up so quickly!  Join me on Facebook and Twitter for #30daysofthanks.

What are you thankful for?  I love hearing from you! 🙂

Linking up to Peas and Crayons! 🙂
