So I’ve been eating the same wrap for oh I dunno…2 weeks?
And it’s a good thing I just ran out of tortillas because my tastebuds would eventually get bored…eventually…
But for today my tastebuds and tummy are LOVIN my
Chicken Tender BBQ Cottage Cheese Wrap.
{It looks like I’ve gone through a similar chicken wrap phase in June.}
I’ve also decided to do a calorie/nutrient count with this ginormous home-made wrap. I don’t generally count calories because I really have never needed to lose weight, but it helps to know what we are putting into our bodies. Since I’m not trying to lose weight, it doesn’t cross my mind that others may want to know calorie counts of my food…a friend recently pointed this out to me so I will keep this in mind in the future. So here ya go friend! 🙂
Ingredients:
Pretty self-explanatory, but here ya go!
- 1 Mission Whole Wheat Medium Flour Tortilla
- 2 Banquet Chicken Tenders (yup they come frozen in a bag)
- Two handfuls baby spinach
- 1/8 cup skim cottage cheese
- Dollup (1/2 TBS) Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ Sauce
How To:
Again, pretty basic, thus this has been my lunch throughout my sicky cold days the past couple of weeks.
- Heat chicken according to package.
- Spread BBQ sauce on tortilla.
- Add cottage cheese and spinnach.
- Put chicken on top, roll up and put a couple of toothpicks in to keep it together.

It is a little crazy looking at the total calorie count (I aim for closer to 300 each meal if I’m not working out..and while I’ve been sick, I haven’t been working out). I would be pleased with the calories and especially the protein if this was on a workout day!
The sodium, however is something I will have to look at in the future as heart disease runs in my family. :-/
Do you go through food phases?
Do you calorie count? If so, do you do this regularly or just if you are needing to lose weight?
