Hi! I’m Amanda.

I’m a writer, chocolate chip cookie baker, blog designer, power walker, Instagram fiend, peanut butter toast lover and copious coffee drinker living in Nebraska with my husband and three cats. (also a fan of a good run-on sentence)

Fruity Energizing Protein Smoothie

October 8, 2014 by Amanda R DeWitt

fruity energizing protein smoothie

This fruit smoothie has been on my menu for the past few weeks and I finally decided to photograph it and write it up for another lovely blogger. It has 2 ingredients–yup. Just two! You can see why this has been a regular smoothie recipe as of late!
The two ingredients are also shelf stable. This is so important when you are a sick walking zombie who can’t sleep at night because of the incessant coughing (me the past two freaking weeks) and can barely manage driving to work so there’s no way she’s doing a big grocery shopping trip for fresh fruits and veggies and almond milk to whip up a healthy fruit smoothie.

Why Would You Try to Make Money Blogging?

September 29, 2014 by Amanda R DeWitt

why would you try to make money blogging via @semihealthnut at semihealthyblog.com

This is a post I’ve been putting off..oh..for months? Ever since I started trying to diversify my blogging income and started sponsored posts (gasp!) this year, I’ve wanted to talk to you guys about the mindset behind all of this.

Money + Blogging.

It’s a tricky thing to talk about. It’s kind of awkward and even taboo among some bloggers. (thus stalling on writing a post about it.) Some view it as “selling out” but others criticize bloggers for not taking their blogs seriously and for not taking money for product reviews.

With the conflicting ideas out there…let’s talk about why I decided to make money blogging.

Staying Active In the Last Days Of Summer

September 4, 2014 by Amanda R DeWitt

staying active in all seasons with Target C9 via @semihealthnut at semihealthyblog.com

We aren’t talking pumpkin spice quite yet, but trust me..these last couple of weeks here in Minnesota have been a bit brisk so far. At least for summer.

Before we know it the leaves will start turning shades of bright red, gold and fire orange…but for now, it’s still summer! We still want to remain active no matter the season. Whether you are headed back to school now or are just in an end-of-the-summer funk, rest assured there is still plenty of time to get active outdoors!

25 (Semi) Healthy Dessert Recipes

August 31, 2014 by Amanda R DeWitt

25 semi healthy dessert recipes via @semihealtnut at semihealtyblog.com

It’s no secret that I have a sweet tooth. That’s why it’s pretty essential that I make most of my desserts semi- healthy desserts. Otherwise I would probably just turn into one big bowl of sugar.

I’m pretty sure that’s what 75% of the recipes on this blog are…semi- healthy dessert recipes! That’s why I got super excited when one of this month’s Foodie Collection themes was “Healthy Twist on Classic Desserts.”

These recipes could be used for some last minute Labor Day ideas or even as some goodies to bring to your next tailgating party. Trust me, no one will turn away a peach cobbler..especially topped with icecream!
