Happy Monday, friends!
Today is one of those days when I just want to tell you tons of stuff, so I’m shmooshing it all into one post because…not enough hours in the day. #amiright
[ so many pumpkins to awkwardly sit on, so little time. ]
First of all, the main announcement…Pumpkin Week 2015!
#pumpkinweek2015: October 18-23
Get excited, guys. I’ve rounded up some amazing blogger friends to bring you the first annual (you know, because I’m assuming we will do this again next year) Pumpkin Week!
Me and my awesome co-hosts are all whipping up 2-4 recipes EACH on our blogs that week, plus we are hosting a giant pumpkin recipe link-up on Friday, the 23rd.
Link-ups are a great way to:
a. find new blogs to follow
b. get inspired by some awesome bloggers
c. connect with fellow bloggers (if you are a blogger yourself)
In addition to that, we are encouraging everyone to use the hashtag #pumpkinweek2015 to tag their recipes on Instagram or Twitter for the chance to have your post shared on our social media AND/OR featured on our Friday link-up where we will be choosing our favorites.

First Ever Ebook
I can’t remember if I officially announced this on the blog, but I made my first ever ebook!! After a lonnnggg time talking about doing one (and a long time trying to put it all together because I am technology-adverse and not a professional designer), I finally finished it a couple of weekends ago.
(if you recall, that opened up some room to actually review my mid-year blog survey.)
For those of you who already signed up for the DSHN e-mail subscription, you already received a copy! Woot! I truly welcome any feedback, although I know an obvious one would be to make it a touch longer (seriously I need to figure out a way to make the process a little faster because those 6 recipes took me for.e.ver.).
If you aren’t a part of the DSHN e-mail subscription, you should definitely get in on it. I offer daily (or each time I post..so 2-3 times per week) e-mails OR a weekly e-mail with a list of recent posts. I also have a little auto-responder set up with about 10 e-mails right now with little tips and tricks and extra stuff I don’t share on the blog.

Other Things Coming up on DSHN
(do we all understand that DSHN stands for Diary of a Semi-Health Nut? mmkay glad we got that cleared up now that I’ve been using it for years without explaining. )
So there’s a ton of stuff going on in the DSHN world! We already talked about pumpkin week, but here are some more things you can look forward to.
1. How to Kick Butt on Pinterest
Here’s another post I’ve been putting off…but decided to finally start last week. I have been nervous to share it since I have a relatively small number of followers BUT I have grown 400% in the past year..so…it’s happening.
2. Instagram Tips Post
I am obsessed with Instagram..anyone else? I just attended an event in Omaha at Whole Foods with Trisha Hughes from Eat Your Beets to figure out how to be even more awesome at Instagram and I came away with a lot of tips that have already helped me so much.
I like to share the knowledge.
3. Recipes and more recipes.
I’ve been pretty good at sharing one recipe a week for the past couple of months and there’s no sign of stopping! I’ve been reading up on foodie photography lately and becoming even more inspired to get in the kitchen and craft some yummy food (and photos). Especially with the pumpkin recipes coming up next week!
4. Local Omaha Restaurant Posts
(note the Instagram game^^) I recently decided I want to start doing more restaurant reviews (and checking out the amazing local foodie talent in Omaha, Nebraska). I’m not sure if this will come in the form of a round-up of restaurants or individual restaurants…we will see how it goes! (also it might not be exclusive Omaha restaurants..we will also play that detail by ear.) PS What kinds of questions would you want answered in a restaurant review?
5. Contributor Posts from David
So this might be confusing because my fiancé’s name is Dave, but I have an awesome contributor named David coming on for the next few months or so who will be sharing some awesome fitness posts! I’m trying to focus more on recipe creation/photography now (if you haven’t figured that out), so I’m super excited to have someone here talking fitness. He’s already done a couple of posts on DSHN and you can see those here.
6. Half Marathon Training Update
Speaking of fitness…we need to chat about the half marathon I’ve been (kind of) training for! Race day is November 1st. Eek!
7. Lifehack Posts
I’ve been doing more Lifehack posts lately, so I might share a teaser here or there…we all cool with that? [Tweet “Lots of new ish coming to DSHN PLUS and exciting announcement! #imasemihealthnut”] Okay..that’s probably enough for now! Have a great week, friends and get excited for another yummy recipe this week!
Tell me….
What is new with YOU? Are you a pumpkin recipe fan (like the rest of us #basic people)?
PS I’m all about Pinterest this year, so I would LOVE IT if you could pin one (or two!) of these images. Just hover over the image to reveal the “pin it” button or use the handy dandy buttons at the bottom and top of each post to display the whole list of pins.
