Inspire Me Mondays Link-Up

Hey friends!

I’m joining a new link-up I’m so excited about called Inspire Me Mondays. I’m actually on a trial period, so do let me know what you think about it.

Inspire Me Mondays

Basically it’s all about inspiring people with what you do best! And then you can also be inspired by all of the talented linkers. Seriously, my mind is blown every time I’ve linked up, so I decided to hop on board.

Things That Inspire Me Lately:

I watched a couple of movies this weekend (like literally sat down and watched the WHOLE movie without multitasking–crazy for me) that both inspired me:

1. Divergent. Something about going against the grain and doing what’s right as opposed to what authority figures say to do just gets to me. My personality is very much one that questions everything. (<-ask Dave. Pretty sure it annoys him to no end.) I question what is the right thing to do and what the easy thing to do. I’m not saying I always choose the right over the easy way, but I like to think that if the stakes were high, I would choose the right thing. And the going against the grain thing definitely relates to what I’m trying to do as a blogger (in my own little way).

2. The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. This is another one that gets me going because Walter’s life is so ordinary and he hasn’t really gone anywhere cool or done anything significant. Sometimes I feel this way because really I’m living a pretty plain life. Moving away from Nebraska was pretty adventurous for awhile, but now it just feels like I’m living a regular life in a slightly different place. The movie really made me want to travel and explore!

I’ve been suuuper into podcasts lately. Two awesome ones in particular have inspired me to get serious about my e-mail subscriptions and get on writing my ebooks:

1. Online Marketing Made Easy by Amy Porterfield

2. Smart Passive Income with Pat Flynn

Both of these podcasts I found by randomly scrolling through the top podcasts on itunes and I’ve really been learning a lot. Some of the success stories are a liiittle out there, but I always find at least one nugget to take away and apply to my own business. I listen to them in the car or while I’m working out so it’s a little easier than, say reading books on these topics. Plus it’s a little more fun listening to a conversation. And Pat Flynn’s intro’s are always hilarious. I highly recommend these for anyone running a business online!

PS I am hoping to finish my ebook all about how it’s possible to eat desserts on a daily basis in the next couple of weeks which I will then offer exclusively to my lovely e-mail subscribers.

PPS Listening to all of these podcasts is even making me want to start one! But one thing at a time…

I hope you all had a lovely Valentine’s weekend whether it was with your love or yourself.

Ours was super casual..I mean we’ve been together 6 years. Plus we had some miscommunications so our big plans got a tad messed up. And the fact that poor Dave has been sick…sigh. Life.

    What a fun concept, this Inspire Me Monday thing. I hope in my pregnancy brain fog, I remember about it next Monday. 🙂

    The Secret Life of Walter Mitty is easily one of my husband and my favorite movies. It’s one of those rare movies that we’ve watched more times than I can count and it touches you every time you watch it regardless of repetition. LOVE IT!
