People like to categorize things in their minds. It makes them more comfortable. They want to know when they go to a store, a restaurant, or a blog what they should be expecting. Sometimes I kind of wonder what my blog label is…
It could be categorized under a “food blog” although it’s not all homemade recipes…or a “healthy living blog” even though I wouldn’t consider half of the things on here to be “healthy” (and I giggle when someone asks me, “what’s healthy about this??”). Oh and speaking of being a food blogger…I am linking up to the ultimate foodie blogger Jenn at Peas and Crayons for WIAW or What I Ate Wednesday this week, so I might as well share some eats with you now!
1. I’m just going to give you a close-up of this one..or three. This bread was to die for and when toasted made the whole apartment smell like Thanksgiving.
- Speaking of smelling like Thanksgiving…be sure to check out my Pumpkin Spice Skillet Cookie with Cinnamon Glaze recipe. Don’t drool too much. (And make sure to come back to read the rest of this post!)

See what I did there? Swapped 2 and 3? Are you with me now? Picture 2 features my new favorite soup: Campbell’s Homestyle Chicken Noodle Soup. This has been perfect for the chilly days as of late and nice and quick for when I arrive home after work in a slightly starved state.

Yeah, it appears I didn’t add a number 4…oh dear. Food blogger fail! (Maybe I’m not cut out for this gig after all!) I am really throwing you for a loop here! But stay with me…number 5 is a chili mac I made the other night. I had a hankering for some of the macaroni shapes I bought on sale at Target and wanted to mix it with something more sustainable…thus adding the chili (from a can). Then I wanted to add some veggies so I chopped up some green peppers we had received from Dave’s mom that weekend. Voila.
- Egg-in-a-bowl. Have you ever nuked an egg? Try it! Scramble up a couple and microwave for 60 seconds. Add some toppings such as mixed cheese, pepper and/or spices and microwave some more at 30 second intervals until the eggs are no longer runny. Easy peasy. The texture is a cross between a scrambled and a hard-boiled egg.
Simple salad with a side of blue corn tortilla chips. Romaine + carrots + shredded mozzarella + guacamole. I definitely took some of those chips and crumbled them on top of the salad for some crunch.
Pizza. Because who doesn’t love pizza? I also added some chopped bell peppers, extra cheese and red pepper flakes for a punch.
Where were we before I started talking foodie? Oh, labeling this blog…You might even try to label it a “fitness blog” if you check in during times when I am actually talking about workouts or a “running blog” during times of training for races…or maybe a motivational-ish blog with yesterday’s post...but I digress. I don’t think I really know what kind of a blogger I am. Maybe the “semi-healthy” kind…or whatever kind I feel like being. That’s okay, right?
Just because others try to put you in a box, doesn’t mean you need to stay in it! ๐
And with that, I’m off to hang out with Mr. Dave before we crash into dreamland.

I think not knowing exactly what kind of blogger you are is perfectly okay! Labels are for tin cans!
