If you follow me on Facebook or Twitter (if you don’t, please check me out and help me meet my social media goals for the year!), you’ll know that I was a liiiittle stressed about finals and a HUGE paper I had to write for one of my nutrition classes.
Caffeine free diet dew if you can believe it! |
I also had an early Christmas present last Thursday…my very first nephew!!
Luckily I had some amazing ladies guest post for me so I could take a mental break from blogging.
If you haven’t seen them check them out!

Blogging takes up more time than one might think…especially if I’m putting up new recipes because I have gotten a bit crazy about editing photos. And putting a zillion of them in.
Today I got to spend my time studying for both my Chemistry test, and I also decided that since I would already be in town (I commute an hour to and from campus) I would take my Nutrition and Fitness final (that I was planning on taking Friday). Yep, I literally woke up and decided to take two finals in one day.
My study fuel was a little sketchy. No, the carrot chips were awesome and the cuties are, well, cute and delicious. But the soup…
I love the Chunky Campbells soups and the chicken noodle is pretty decent, but for some reason I got a little excited when the soups were on sale and didn’t look at the nutrition content on the buffalo chicken soup.
I realized upon opening it that it was a creamy broth, which automatically ups the calories. What concerned me more than the calories (the calories still aren’t bad), was the SODIUM content. Guess how much sodium??
66% of the daily recommended intake for sodium!! In one little bowl! Needless to say, I did not have those Fritos that were pictured and I didn’t finish the whole bowl. I need to be more aware of sodium intake because heart disease unfortunately runs in the family.
I did get a little cardio workout in with my flashcards, which was a great stress reliever.
Seriously, you think you don’t have time?? 30 minutes and I felt like a million bucks! So worth it!!
I was feeling pretty awesome by the time I left for school!
Game face. I actually wore something other than sweats to school!! |
Maybe even a little two awesome and jazzed up about going to kick some test butt because I totally demolished this Luna bar (Nutz Over Chocolate) box. Oops.
I got to school to take my Nutrition and Fitness final, but the testing center had a line out the door!! Which presented a bit of a problem since it was 4pm, the final would probably take an hour or more, and I had a Chemistry final at 6pm that could take 2 hours, and the testing center closes at 9pm.
If you understood all of that…you can see my dilema, to wait in line or not to wait??
I decided to head to the new location of the Chemistry final to hang out and study there. We’ve met at the same location for the past four tests, but for the final apparently they needed a different room. Which I couldn’t find. So it turns out it was a good thing I was two hours early for the test!
I made sure to bring a snack or two since I’d be at school awhile. I actually ended up being there till about 8:30pm so my rule of thumb of…um, always have snacks ready…worked out well! 🙂
I got a 93 percent on my Nutrition and Fitness Final and I don’t really care about the Chemistry final since I pretty much know my grade in the class and all I know is that I don’t need to re-take it. Ha!
I got home and immediately got excited for all of the possibilities for this break I have now!
This is my happy face!! |
Get ready for lots of fun foodie posts, some nutrition and fitness educational posts, and hopefully some new workouts and maybe even a training plan for a half-marathon I may be signing up for??
I will also be doing a post or two on goals…and even a link-up for New Year’s resolutions (like last year, only you will link-up, right?)
Thanks for sticking with me thus far and again, get excited!!

I think my favorite part of this post is the potential half marathon! 🙂 I’m always a “race pusher”, so I’m excited when I hear others are adding to their list!!

Haha I’ve been trying for the half marathon for a couple of years but keep getting injured!! I’m praying it will workout this time!!

Oh my gosh, are those chili cheese fritos? I am not ashamed to say that I’m obsessed with them.
Amanda aka Semi-Health Nut
Haha yes!! My dad gets them and I put them in my chicken noodle soup sometimes. Or in cottage cheese lol!
