Oh I needed some family and love this past Sunday! School was really getting to me last week and it was so refreshing to be around people I love and have some good laughs, good food, and a nice long walk reminiscing about things like how my friends and I used to make prank phone calls (true story).
We celebrated August birthdays, including Dave’s (the BF), Betty’s (the BF’s mom), and my grandma Kathy’s. So we kind of combined our families for the evening…which has not happened before and was a little weird at first, but it’s hard to find time for everyone so I just thought let’s pull together a zillion tables at our local pizza place and have some fun. 🙂
It makes me happy looking at the pictures from Sunday. School has continued to kick my butt today. Like, crying in a bathroom stall today. Don’t worry, I picked myself up and kept on.
I realized on Monday that I was in the wrong Chemistry class and let me tell ya, it has been no walk in the park getting things straightened out.
I think the breaking point was when I realized that I was just a number to the people I was seeking help from. People were basically passing me off to the next person and I was walking (miles…the campus is big) in circles. I won’t even tell you how I originally scheduled an appointment with an adviser MONTHS ago and had it cancelled on me via e-mail with a “if you have problems signing up for classes, let me know.” Welp, didn’t have a problem, so didn’t call. Did sign up for the wrong one, though. *sigh*
Let’s get happy again by looking at my eats from Sunday. 🙂 After all, it will be okay because God never gives us more than we can handle (right!?).
{Morning Eats} My favorite granola on top of my favorite breakfast: peanut butter toast! I had a banana later on when I was feeling snackish.
{Lunch} I actually got food from Taco Bell! This was some leftover cantina bowl (yum) with chips, salsa ranch and chicken tenders. You know you like it. 😉
{Snacks} Clif Kid Bar (amazing brownie flavor) in the afternoon and some multigrain cheerios at bedtime.
{Dinner with the Fam} Started out with salad with cottage cheese, nuts and bacon, side of carrots before my yummy slice of sausage, pepper and onion pizza.
Well it’s time for me to crack down on some homework! Or watch Big Bang Theory…hmmm…
Have a lovely Wednesday all! 🙂
How often does your family gather? Ours is usually birthdays and major holidays.
What’s your favorite kind of pizza? Mine is hamburger with peppers and onions with NO MUSHROOMS. 😉

RE: Scheduling. So in my experience working for 2 places of higher education, I’ve learned that nobody talks to each other. You get sent to admissions, who sends you to the registrar, who sends you to the chem department, etc. But YOU don’t know that none of them know what the hell the other department does or can do for you.
My current position is in an office that ends up being the last stop for these sad frustrated calls. We do everything in our power to answer their questions without transferring them elsewhere. Usually we get a HUGE thank you from desperate parents.

It’s so weird that they don’t talk to each other!! I remember asking the Chemistry department “can you call my advisor so I don’t have to walk 5 blocks to ask her this question?” and her response was “no.” So I got a workout in that day!
It kinda stinks you work with the frustrated people but awesome that you can actually help them!
