It’s time for another WIAW {What I Ate Wednesday}.
The food I’m showcasing here is from Friday, I think. It’s been a long few days so I’m having a little trouble knowing which way is up. I actually showed up to an appointment two days late today, however I am blaming the office because I have it scheduled in my phone as today. *sigh* Don’t you hate those moments when you realize, “I could have slept in!!” Oh well, there is always time to sleep tonight, right? (As long as I make myself get to bed!)
Here is a collection of eats I ate from sometime last week. ๐
(For more on what WIAW means to me, click here.)
{Breakfast} Leftover late night snack. Okay the picture isn’t all I ate, but that was the point that I remembered “oh I want to take pictures of my food today.” This consisted of peanutbutter Cheerios, sunflower nuts and mini chocolate chips.
Perfect pre-workout fuel for my Body Pump class!
{Post-Workout} Scoop of protein powder with almond milk.
Have you tried almond milk? You should! I drink it because my tummy can’t do regular milk, but you can find some brands that actually have more calcium than regular milk. Bonus!
{Lunch} Turkey-Guac wrap!
Oh I forgot I haven’t shared my yummy guacamole recipe I’ve been experimenting with the past couple of weeks.
Well, you will just have to be patient huh?
I had some smeared on a whole wheat tortilla with deli turkey and some italian cheeses (the same cheeses found on my jazzed up Hamburger Helper). That thing was filling!
{Dessert} Cookie dough.
I just can’t resist! This dough was an oatmeal chocolate chip chocolate sprinkle with half of the butter substituted with applesauce. I still haven’t baked the dough…just keep munching on it after meals.
{Dinner} I got a little creative and went vegetarian.
I had some leftover mashed red potatos and I wanted a Boca Burger, so I combined them. I added some carrots for crunch and additional veggies. Pepperjack cheese and spicy brown mustard gave the meal a punch of flavor.
I’ve been trying to do vegetarian meals and even vegetarian days and it’s surprisingly easy (and tasty). I’m super interested in this lifestyle, so I am actually recruiting some vegetarian/vegan friends to do guest posts on this topic this month. E-mail me if you are interested in participating! {Dessert} More cookie dough. Surprising? Not in the least. I am not ashamed that I left myself eat dessert daily…sometimes twice and thrice daily. This prevents me from binging out of control when I go too long without sweet treats. (See more about my semi-healthy philosophy)
{Late night snack} Clif Kids bar.
Yes, I eat the kid bars. They are yummy and only 120 calories, whereas a regular clif bar is about twice as many calories. Perfect snack size.
Things I Did Well on Friday:
- Lots of veggies.
- Used up leftovers.
- Good protein intake.
Things I Could Improve Upon:
- Need fruit.
I think next week I will try to remember to keep track of my fluid intake as well.
Linking up to my friend Jenn at Peas and Crayons!!
Well, I am off for a run! Have a great Wednesday everyone!
How do you get creative with food? What’s the weirdest creation you’ve made?
P.S. Stay tuned for a giveaway! Hint: This will help with your HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) workouts!
