Perks of the Job + Giveaway Teaser

Hello Friends!

I have this sweet babysitting job this summer. 

A couple of days a week I get to go over and hang out with cute one-year-old twins.

Although the money isn’t great per hour, especially compared to the wing-n-beer job and the coffee catering job, there are some perks that come a long with it.

First perk: the gal I sit for buys healthy food.  It’s so cool to work for someone with a similar take on food and fitness. 

I also get to use some of this healthy food in my lunches!  I bring food, however when I see avacados in the fridge and some wrap thing I’ve never tried before…I meld it with the food I bring.

Yesterday I added the rest of the mushroom quinoa I tried from the day before to a wrap with olive-oil-peppered mayo, my chicken tenders, mozzarella cheese wrapped up in a sundried tomato tortilla.

Okay Mayo isn’t healthy…but this is my semi-healthy blog!


I added a side of my carrot chips and called it good.  I mowed this down as fast as I could after I fed the kiddos pasta….I wish I took a picture of their orange faces!!

Actually I don’t think I finished it until later when they were down for their nap.

I would almost call it a post-workout meal…chasing them around all day. 😉

Another perk: pushing two kiddos in a stroller is an amazing workout.

I’ve seen people post on DailyMile about how they’ve run 5 miles with a running stroller thinking that is probably tough to run with a stroller.

Yes, it is tough.  I attempted to run a couple of days ago and let me tell you..thank goodness I brought a change of clothes!

(Another perk: I go to work in my gym clothes and no make-up!)

The stroller is also handy when dealing with crabby babes. 

And when I lull them to sleep on a lovely walk and after I’ve cleaned up from the last meal, I can do a quick blog post or check my e-mail.  (And finish my own meal.)

Could another perk be cute kids?  Add it to the list!  Cute kids.

I am so blessed to have found this family to babysit for and I hope they will keep me around for awhile!  🙂
