I hope you are all having a wonderful day!
I am on a super weird sleeping schedule..I haven’t been working at my coffee catering job since it has been slow there and I have progressed to a 1am bedtime and 9am rise time. It’s weird. I feel a little lazy and a little like my morning is almost over by the time I have my breakfast and am ready to do things. I suppose I should enjoy my sleeping in time, yes? I am on the schedule for this coming Monday at 645am so this won’t be the case for long!
It is Wednesday and if you’ve been following me the past few months I’ve been participating in WIAW! What. I. Ate. Wednesday.
Never heard of WIAW?
I got the idea from Jenn at Peas and Crayons and link up to her posts each week. This uber-creative gal also inspired me to be more fun with my photos on my blog, thus the photo collages.
What I do
I (try to) take photographs of each item of food I eat and each item I drink for an entire day (doesn’t have to be Wednesday, Wednesday is just the day we share). (Taking photos of all of the food I consume is no easy task…I applaud those who do this on a regular basis.) Then I try to evaluate how well I ate or what areas could use some improvements.
Why would you care what I ate?
I’m not vain enough to think that everyone will care, however this can give you some ideas for food for yourself as well as a way to space meals out. There is a thought process out there that those who are “skinny” eat very little food or restrict calories or fat or sweets. I would like for people to see that this does not have to be the case! I believe a large part of the reason I am the small size that I am is that I allow myself indulgences AND I make sure to listen to my body when I am hungry. Skipping meals is not for me. (For more on my eating philosophy, see my Semi-Healthy page.)
Basically, I am at a healthy weight and this is how I eat!
Here’s the Eats from Friday, January 20th, 2012:
{Breakfast: 9:30am}: Peanutbutter and grandma jelly on a toasted Kashi Blueberry waffle (BF’s grandma’s homemade jelly…yum!), vitamins and diet dew. I ate/drank this while I was on my way to class out of town. I drank a water bottle in class and on the way home.
Borrowed picture from an earlier WIAW! |
{Lunch: 1:30pm}: I was uber hungry by now (I make it a point to notice when I’m hungry and not ignore it) so I whipped up a quick wrap when I got home from class. Whole wheat tortilla + turkey + cottage cheese + spinach + azian zing sauce + shredded jack cheese and a side of carrot chips +water and diet dew
{Snack: 5pm}: 100 cal popcorn + Granookie Bar
{Dinner: 8pm}: Turkey tom on wheat with lettuce, sprouts and lite mayo plus some chips and water with the BF’s fam.
{Late Night Snack: 10pm}: crackers, chocolate, peanutbutter, bedtime tea
Evaluation of my Eats:
What I Liked:
- Good water intake
- Lean proteins (turkey)
- Veggies
- Decent spacing of meals
What Could be Improved:
- Fruits! Need fruit in my life!
- Bring a snack with me to class so I’m not famished by the time I get home
Overall a decent food day. 🙂
I am off to do some serious studying. I have a nutrition test Friday for my online class where I actually have to go into a testing center to take the test. Since I am already in the area on Fridays for my other nutrition class I am taking the test then instead of the following Monday..when everyone else can take it. I can’t complain though because I love studying nutrition!!
Besides the nutrition test Friday, I have a dang Chem test tomorrow. Ugh bleh ek blerg. Does anyone like Chemistry??
I am also scheduled to run today. We will see if that happens…I might need the run after studying Chemistry. 😉
(And if you follow me on Facebook, you saw that I made brownies with a “special ingredient” and I will be working on that post if I have time! Also if you don’t, you should follow me on Facebook! )
Enjoy the rest of your Wednesday folks!
