I am so thrilled for 2012 and for the possibilities it brings.
I feel it in my bones that this year will be a life-changing year. Yes, my bones are that perceptive.
I have been working all day long on my New Year resolution list (after I created my “Best of 2011” link-up post). I also created an inspiration board which I am quite proud of and I will blissfully stare at the index cards with goals on them surrounded by colorful paper and believe I can change myself and in turn the world. My enthusiasm will of course waver as the year goes on, however I will try to hold to it for as long as possible.
This was no easy task for sure…but it was amazingly messy and creative. It brought me back to the days when I’d spend hours scrapbooking. Cutting with funky scissors and gluing photographs and writing captions in fancy lettering was a favorite pastime of mine for many years. Therefore I giddily dug out my scrapbook paper and a bunch of magazines and spend about four hours creating my masterpiece.
Here are some of my Goals 2012:
I tried to be very specific with my goals because I’ve learned that general goals are a little harder to attain. Such as “create 10 new recipes” as opposed to “some recipes.” I even have uber-organized categories for my goals. Hey they’re my goals and I can be organized if I wanna!
Health Goals:
- Run 10K
- Run half-marathon (signed up for one May 20th)
- Run 300 miles in 2012
- Try 2 new fitness classes
- Develop 10 healthified goodie/sweets recipes
- Develop 10 new healthy meals
- Develop 5 new healthy side-dishes
- Start weekly meal-planning (at least 5 meals a week)
Personal Goals:
- Read one book a month (started in December with Mindy Kaling’s fabu book)
- Treat myself to at least one:
- massage
- manicure
- spa facial
- Complete Blue Book (foundational values church program I’ve started with the BF)
- Buy new gym/running shoes (Asics are the best!)
- Update wardrobe (with bday money?)
- Get my own apartment (love the Daddio, love free rent, but I am starting to feel like a little kid)
- Keep track of my cleaning (I’m just going to keep a calendar in my bathroom..I need to clean more..can anyone relate?)
- Volunteer somewhere new
Educational Goals:
- Get Associate’s Degree (I don’t need one..however I think it will make me feel a little better about spending three years at a community college 😉 )
- Job in healthfield (I have a lead on a gym job)
- Take a photography class
- Take a writing class
Blog Goals:
- Attend one blogger conference (I am socially awkward and terrified of meeting new people…but gotta step out of my comfort zone right?)
- Get business cards (for said conference)
- Submit 5 photos to Food Buzz
- Have 5 Guest Bloggers (let me know if you are interested!)
- Help one person (remembering that “followers” are people with feelings and emotions)
- Up my said “followers” (Facebook, Twitter, “Members” on the left of the blog…feel free to help me out friends!)
- Develop a weekly link-up or series
I am planning on checking back mid-year (June) to see how far I’ve come. We will see how it goes! I’m still high on the possibilities of a new year!
