Happy Friday Friends!
It’s that time again…time to show you a small sample of the awesomeness I have found searching this here world-wide-web. I like to call it Friday Five Foodie Finds.
{Really it’s an excuse to peruse many many blogs for hours and hours each week in the name of Friday Five Foodie Finds.} 😉
1. The Pink and Blue Blog’s Cookie Skillet
This recipe makes me drool. I mean really check it out. I added another sweet pic onto my Pinterest board showing all the steps. Slight obstacle: I don’t have a cast iron skillet. I could ask for one for Christmas…but that is oh so far away! I may just steal one from the BF’s family…I think I saw one there. Shhh don’t tell!
2. The Smitten Kitchen’s Roasted Tomato Soup with Broiled Cheddar
I originally saw this on Iowa Girl Eat’s Blog…but she got it from Smitten Kitchen so I gotta give both props. 😉 This gem combines grilled cheese with tomato soup…a soup which I have never liked…but from the looks of this, I could learn to like. I mean come on, roasted tomatos?? Also I have never broiled anything so that will be a fun challenge…
3. The Picky Palate’s Chicken Stew with Sausage and Beans
I usually think of stew as heavy and dark…but this stew doesn’t seem to be either. Filled with protein and fiber goodness…I can’t wait to try it.
4. I Talk to Food’s Healthy Banana Bread
Okay I’ve made banana bread before (even banana bread with applesauce and banana bread with pumpkin) but this one looks uber healthy AND unique. It has coconut oil and agave nectar, neither of which I’ve baked with before. I do get sold on food pictures and this is a sweet one! Look at that crust!
5. Finding Joy in my Kitchen’s Spaghetti and Meatballs (From Scratch)
Last, but certainly not least, a recipe from the gal who gave me the idea for Friday Five Foodie Finds. (I link up to her page each week I’ve done this series…check it out!)
The meatball part of this recipe is what caught my eye since I’ve had meatballs on the brain for a couple of months now. That sounds weird, but at Subway a couple of months ago I decided to go with the meatball sub…something that brought me back to my high school days. I used to have about 3 of those bad boys a week. (Gotta love high school metabolism eh?) I have been wanting to make my own meatballs ever since!

What are you up to this weekend?
P.S. It’s November, the month of Thanksgiving (in case you were uninformed about this event) and I have decided to do a personal Twitter challenge that YOU can be a part of. I am doing 30 Days of Thanks this month, each day, a new topic of thankfulness. Follow me on Twitter, tweet at me and use the hashtag #30daysofthanks. Excited to hear what everyone is thankful for! 🙂
{I add most of the pics from my Friday Five Foodie Finds onto Pinterest}
