You Know What They Say…

October 25, 2011 by Amanda R DeWitt

An apple a day keeps the doctor away!

Or so I hear.

Lately I have been IN LOVE with Honeycrisp apples!  Have you tried them??  You must!  They are a little on the pricey side..but very worth it.  I like to share one with the BF because they are usually GINORMOUS.   I eat em plain or sliced with peanutbutter and other goodies on top, such as sunflower seeds or with granola (addicting).  They are in season right now and when I see them in stores for the first time my eyes bug out of my head and I have to try to act cool as I rush over to check em out.

Fruit sent from above

Why I love Honeycrisps:

  • They are sweet (not sour)
  • They are crisp and juicy (never mushy or gritty..unless they get old but I don’t let that happen)
  • They are apples so they are packed with fiber
  • PLUS they are pretty to look at!  Redish-pink glow on the outside and white, crisp, juiciness on the inside.

These would also be great for a good ol Halloween game of bobbing for apples!  If I could arrange to play this at my Halloween party this Saturday I TOTALLY WOULD.

Well my mouth is watering right now so I better go!

Have a fabulous fall day!

P.S.  Do you have Pinterest??  How addicted are you??  (I may need to join a support group soon…)
