Hey friends! In case you didn’t hear last week, Inspire Me Mondays have moved over to The iLOVE Project.
I will still be attempting to stick with the Monday/Wednesday/Friday posting (see handy schedule page), but Mondays might be more like round-ups, weekend recaps and stuff. I know you’ll be dying to read on Mondays from that description—ha!
For Today’s post, we are going with the Happy Things title. Remember when I started the Happy Things series forever ago? I wanted to focus on the, well, happy things in my life instead of complaining about everything (like I tend to do).
Happy Life Stuff:
1. Free food at the café is always a good thing.
2. Having the world’s best zoo (literally) in my home city boggles my mind.
I haven’t been in a couple of years and I remember as a kid it was fun, but we definitely took it for granted. Going as an adult is pretty freaking amazing and I had the opportunity to do that this past week with Dave, Mama Sue, Sister Courtney and my cutie pie of a nephew.
My favorite part was feeding the budgies. Even though you can find them at any pet store.
3. I got to see Mr. Nephew again this weekend where he gave me a workout babysitting.
Seriously, that kid has energy. I would like to borrow some of that, if possible. He is freaking adorable, though.4. Like I said in my Friday post, I’m getting back into running!
I made it a whole 3 miles on Sunday. Woot! And my face was as red as a strawberry when I was finished.

I wrote that I would do a more thorough recap later, but I may still be waiting on other photos. Also I looked back and I mean..you get the gist, right? Sometimes I’m such a perfectionist that I can’t just share photos like that without sharing step-by-step what we did. Someone please tell me to chill out. 😉
Wednesday:
I am super sad that I didn’t get to put up my recipe on Wednesday. (I vaguely remember some issue where I was up super late and decided to hit the hay instead of post. Oops. This week it’s coming!)
Friday:
Yoga Poses to Prevent Running Injuries
This makes me want to bust out some of these moves right now! I feel like it would be frowned on at the Starbucks I’m currently working at though…

YAY for happy things!! And SUPER YAY for getting in that 3 miler yesterday! 😉 I got it in in the morning (when it was the PERFECT running temp mind you…hehe) and was so happy when my 3 ½ miles went by faster than I thought. I may have a new thing of listening to podcasts while I run now that I’m not driving as much as I was before!

Right?? At the zoo there is a whole big enclosure where they can fly around, although it is a bit crowded with birds. I can never decide if the zoo is awesome or heartbreaking..
