Are you a last minute shopper like me?? Check out these awesome last minute items that will be perfect for your favorite foodie or fitness enthusiast.
Worried about late shipping? Some of these services offer a discount on rush shipping for us last minute folks (see SKOOP and fitbit below) but something you can also do is print out a picture of the item and wrap that. Not that I’ve ever had to do this…HA. (I have..if you can’t read my sarcasm.)
Oh and there’s a sweet giveaway involving a must-have running item!
But really, I am the queen of last minute. I regularly work down to the wire and get ready to leave with negative 5 minutes to spare. And buy presents on Christmas Eve. I mean we only put our tree up two days ago…
I actually giggled last week every time I saw a post about “last minute gift ideas.”
Last minute? Really?
Last minute is starting a project at midnight because you found out a couple of hours before that it’s due at midnight PACIFIC time (so you have an extra 2 hours if you’re on Central Time..might as well do the dishes, shower and paint your toes before starting at midnight. may or may not have happen two days ago.). Last minute is packing for a trip the day of. Last minute is buying a present on the way to a birthday party or wedding.
Of course doing things last minute has it’s drawbacks. Like if your anxiety attacks you at a Christmas party and become insanely exhausted the next few days and oddly sick at the sight of food. (That’ll throw a wrench in your recipe sharing spree!) Or if your internet craps out and you have articles due involving rounding up delicious recipes on the internets.
Or if you get sucked into Zazzle and design allthethings with your blog logo.
I wouldn’t say that I’m lazy; I’m always working on something or brainstorming what I’m GOING to do. It just seems like life happens and I’m always playing catch up. Am I alone here? Or maybe I am just bad at planning. Oh well. Thanks for letting me vent!
Now I am finally sharing with you some delightful things you need to buy. Either for yourself or a foodie slash fitness lover in your life!
Disclaimer: There are some affiliate links coming up which means I get a small kickback if you buy. There’s no change in your price or experience; just knowing you’re supporting me and my blog!
1. SKOOP protein powder. (or any Skoop products)
SKOOP actually doesn’t need to be in all caps, but whenever I say it for some reason I say “SKOOOOP!” I know. Small things amuse me.
Anyways, I am a huge fan of Skoop products because of the serious quality and the fact that the protein powder is vegan and actually tastes good. Believe me, I have tried many protein powders and even the one at the gym café I work at (which is at least bearable) can’t match the taste. Plus everyone I’ve worked with at the company has been amazing and they have a super active social media account which means all concerns are heard (like if you can’t find the scoop in the Skoop bag and you get an amazing suggestion to use a fork to find it in the bag. seriously.).
I’ve even made some tasty recipes with Skoop B Protein:
GF Pumpkin Spice Browned Butter Protein Bites
Pumpkin Spice Latte Protein Shake
Fruity Energizing Protein Smoothie
Banana Funfetti Protein Cookies
Frozen Strawberry Protein Frappuccino
Right now Skoop is offering a FREE upgrade to priority shipping if you place the order before the end of the day on December 21st. You can also use the code CHEERS25 at checkout for 25% off!!
2. Fitbit.
If you didn’t know, a fibit is a fitness tracking device. It tracks steps walked, stairs climbed and even tracks your sleep if you wish!
My fitbit seriously motivates me to get up and move even on days when I’m just at home sitting. I continually discover new ways to get steps in partly because I know that movement is healthy for me, but I’m also highly competitive. You can now challenge your friends to step-offs (I made that word up just now) and they can get pretty intense..especially with all of the notifications like “Dave just passed Amanda by a whopping 500 steps.”
You can see my full fitbit one review here.
If you buy one for yourself…make sure to add me via e-mail: semihealthnut at yahoo dot com so we can challenge each other!
Fitbit is offering FREE overnight shipping starting today, December 19th through Monday, December 22nd!
3. Sweet new apron.
Speaking of making things on zazzle…one item I made is a Diary of a Semi-Health Nut apron! That’s the item that is linked, but you can also customize that item to add your own image or choose a different color or length. It also comes in child size. (Someone please get your kid an apron and send pictures because adult things on children are simply always adorable.)
Things that I like about this apron: adjustable strap, ginormous pockets and of course I’m pretty smitten with my design work (aka cutting out a part of the logo Julie designed and slapping it on an apron).
Zazzle always has discounts going, so make sure to check for the discount code at the top of the site!
4. Icebreaker Merino hoodie.
[please note the gangster face. this is what happens when I feel goofy taking multiple pictures of myself.]
If you’re looking for a super functional, comfy, warm hoodie with all the gadgets, you should check out Icebreaker. I was sent the Quantum Long Sleeve Zip Hoodie to try out and I was pretty blown away by all the bells and whistles. I’ve pretty much been wearing it every day the past two weeks!!
Things I love about the hoodie:
-Great fabric.
-Lightweight yet surprisingly warm.
-Odor free.
-Zip-up pockets. The hoodie I received has three zip-up pockets and two “hidden” pockets on the inside.
-Thumb holes AND awesome hand covers. Perfect for chilly outdoor running!
They even have a gift guide here featuring a variety of different styles. I would say I’m the “over packer” or maybe “glamper.” How about you?
Icebreaker MERINO focuses on quality winter active wear featuring merino wool. They are also super nice to their animals, which is a giant bonus. Icebreaker even has standards for contractors in regards to fair treatment of their workers. All of these positive aspects do come with a price tag, so keep that in mind.
FREE 2 Day shipping on orders over $99 today (December 19th. I checked on the 20th and they are still offering it!)!

5. Armpocket armband.
This is the luxury armband for all you runners out there! I was honestly a little hesitant receiving this item since I already have a couple decent armbands for running, but I was blown away by the sheer awesomeness wrapped up in this little package!
I was able to sample the Xtreme i-30 model (in bright pink of course) which fits my iPhone 5s with an Otterbox case perfectly.
Awesome things about Armpocket Armband:
-Padded for ultimate comfort.
-Variety of armband sizes to fit all phones AND all arms.
-Spot for headphones.
-Phone straps in with an elastic enclosure.
-Plenty of room to stash cards, a key and fuel behind the phone.
-Nice snug fit.
-Breathable fabric.
-Made from recyclable material so eco-friendly!
The lovely folks from Armpocket are even letting me giveaway one armband to one lucky US reader! Enter below!

Skoop is the only protein powder I use! It was tough finding a plant based protein powder that wasn’t an unpleasant texture, tasted good and worked well in recipes. Skoop delivers all of that! My daughter has taken over the Fitbit 🙂
Happy holidays Amanda!
Amanda @ Diary of a Semi-Health Nut
That’s exactly how I feel about Skoop!
Your daughter sounds like my youngest sister..always stealing mom’s stuff! 🙂
Olivia J.
Wait, wait, wait… that armband has pockets and stuff?! That’s genius. It should surprise no one that I love the hot green color. So cool. P.S. Great roundup of products!

Finally someone who understands what last minute truly means! 🙂 These are fantastic gifts. I have to go with the pink, mainly because I’d probaby lose it if it was neutral colored! 😉 Merry Christmas Amanda!
Amanda @ Diary of a Semi-Health Nut

Angie Jerde

I’m not sure. . . so many choices! I’ll need to think about it.
I find Zazzle an “attractive nuisance” and only visit it when I have lots of time and willpower (I want soo many of the cute designs)!
Amanda @ Diary of a Semi-Health Nut
Seriously I spent HOURS over Thanksgiving break looking and designing!
