Magic Bullet Giveaway Courtesy of Fairlife Milk

April 16, 2014 by Amanda R DeWitt

Well I think I’ve teased you about this giveaway enough…on Instagram

magic bullet giveaway

…Monday’s birthday thoughts post…last Tuesday’s Target workout clothing post…

Enough is enough, right?

Well, I was recently contacted by a company called Fairlife whose motto is “believe in better.” They told me they had this amazing milk for me to sample.

fairlife milk giveaway #believeinbetter

I replied back (without reading the e-mail very closely) that I am lactose-intolerant but appreciated the offer.

Well…it turns out this milk, real milk from cows, contains no lactose. Even I, the gal who gets gassy just smelling lactose, could successfully drink a full glass of real milk made by Fairlife.

While I was skeptical and super nervous drinking a full glass of the good stuff, it turns out..I could drink this Fairlife milk without doubling over in pain or bloating like a pregnant woman.

Not only was I able to drink the most delicious chocolate milk I’ve ever had (no, I haven’t always been lactose intolerant so I have tasted milk before haha), the stats on Fairlife milk is almost too good to be true!

fairlife giveaway milk stats #believeinbetter via @semihealthnut on semihealthyblog

50% MORE protein and 50% LESS sugar PLUS more calcium than regular milk.

Are you kidding me?? More protein, more calcium, half the sugar, lactose-free AND it tastes good??

The nutrition nerd in me gets giddy just thinking about it!

How is this possible??

Keeping the cows comfortable with lots of room to breath and feeding them grass that their stomachs can digest (yeah, not all cows are fed food that they can actually digest…gah!) starts the milk out on the right track. Then with the use of a cold filtration system, they are able to filter out the lactose, a good portion of the fat, and keep the good stuff like protein and calcium in the milk.

fairlife milk + magic bullet giveaway via @semihealthnut on semihealthyblog.com

Thank you, science and happy cows for this wonderful product.

If you are more of a list person (like me), here is the break-down of my

Fairlife milk review:

Likes:

  • lactose-free real milk from cows
  • happy cows
  • practices sustainability
  • no “added protein powders or synthetic junk”
  • 50% more protein
  • more calcium
  • 50% less sugar
  • tastes great

Dislike:

Current ad campaign. Sorry, but what does sexy ladies with their skirts flying up have to do with milk? The answer: nothing. (I am not the first one to think this…many major news outlets have spoken of the provocative ads.)

racy fairlife ad via @semihealthnut at semihealthyblog.com

Show me an ad with happy cows or the cool filtration system or a cute kid drinking a glass of milk with a red-striped straw. //end rant

Basically, there are tons of things I love about this brand even if the ads make me scratch my head.

For reading this review (and checking out their website), Fairlife has agreed to give you two coupons for their amazing milk PLUS a Magic Bullet blender.

I tried out the Magic Bullet I received and it is pretty sweet.

Notes on the Magic Bullet:

  • I’m a huge fan of the blending containers doubling as storage containers and/or drinking glasses. Yay for summer smoothies!
  • It’s pretty small and compact..great for traveling according to Christa on Instagram!
  • Maybe I am just a klutz but I hurt my hand on one of the pieces of plastic sticking out unscrewing one of the containers … so be careful. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Since Fairlife milk is only sold in select stores in Minnesota, Chicago and Denver I decided to split up the giveaway. I wouldn’t want those milk coupons to go to waste!

You can win both, so definitely enter both if you are in an area where you can redeem the coupons for free deliciously healthy milk!

a Rafflecopter giveaway

Most of the options for these two giveaways are the same EXCEPT for the tweeted message.
 a Rafflecopter giveaway

 Good luck, friends!

 use this one amanda

Disclaimer: I was given free milk to sample and one Magic Bullet blender and a giveaway in exchange for my opinions on this product. As usual, all opinions are 110% my own!

We’re big fans of Fairlife in our house! My husband discovered it recently, and it’s all he will drink milk-wise now (we like that it’s higher in protein than reg. milk.) We hope to see it in more stores soon, Lunds sells out of it quick here in Minneapolis!

    • Amanda aka Semi-Health Nut

      April 17, 2014 at 5:53 pm

I haven’t even seen it at Lund’s yet, but I need to check it out next week!!

I like that the milk is lactose-free and high in calcium since my husband would benefit from both factors!

    • Amanda aka Semi-Health Nut

      April 17, 2014 at 5:54 pm

And you might benefit too from none of his dairy issues… ๐Ÿ˜‰

    April 16, 2014 at 12:17 pm

Not a fan of some of the ads but otherwise I love everything that I read especially sustainability and traceability from grass to glass.

    • Amanda aka Semi-Health Nut

      April 17, 2014 at 5:55 pm

Yeah that set of ads is goofy but I LOVE that the cows are grass-fed and treated well!

  4. Kaylin Gilkey

    April 16, 2014 at 12:17 pm

Interesting! Never heard of Fairlife before. I love that it has half the sugars of normal milk as I’m usually trying to watch my sugar intake.

    • Amanda aka Semi-Health Nut

      April 17, 2014 at 5:56 pm

There is a surprising amount of sugar in A LOT of things so I’m happy about the lower sugar too!

    April 16, 2014 at 12:26 pm

My bf is lactose intolerant, but drinks milk anyways, which is NOT fun for me. So I’m really excited that this milk is lactose free but still tasty ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Amanda aka Semi-Health Nut

      April 17, 2014 at 5:57 pm

haha yes significant others of the lactose-intolerant benefit too. Just ask my BF! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  6. Meredith

    April 16, 2014 at 12:33 pm

I’ve never heard of Fairlife before. I’d definitely be interested in trying out their skim milk.

  7. Katie Arnold

    April 16, 2014 at 12:38 pm

Yay for letting the cows eat grass! ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Amanda aka Semi-Health Nut

      April 17, 2014 at 5:57 pm

haha yay!! You could drink this milk, right? No lactose.. ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. Leslee @ Her Happy Balance

    April 16, 2014 at 1:05 pm

The fact that they treat the cows well, and don’t feed them a hormone-filled diet makes sense to me. As a result you’ll definitely get a better quality product. And having extra protein and less sugar is the bomb.

    • Amanda aka Semi-Health Nut

      April 17, 2014 at 5:58 pm

Yep and no antibiotics needed either because they are eating grass–something their stomachs can digest! ๐Ÿ™‚

    April 16, 2014 at 1:26 pm

I’ve tried this milk (I live in Chicago) and it’s AMAZING! I cannot wait to share it with friends and family.

  12. Kim @ FITsique

I love the idea of this milk! I am obsessed with chocolate milk but even though i am not really lactose intolerant I have a sensitivity and it always kills my stomach. This would be a great option especially with the added protein!

    • Amanda aka Semi-Health Nut

      April 17, 2014 at 6:00 pm

Man I wonder if it’s the sugar that normally does you in…especially if it’s an empty stomach?

  13. Sarah Pie

    April 16, 2014 at 4:50 pm

I’m not a milk person myself but I love a company that supports healthy, happy, animals. And who wouldn’t love the world’s cutest mini blender ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • Amanda aka Semi-Health Nut

      April 17, 2014 at 6:00 pm

You don’t like milk or can’t drink it? It’s lactose free!

And yay for happy cows!! Seriously all companies need to move in this direction!!

  14. Nikki

    April 16, 2014 at 7:40 pm

I like the company – still not big on milk….

  15. Erin G. @ Treats and Sneaks

I really wish we had fairlife somewhere near us! It would become a regular in my house!

    • Amanda aka Semi-Health Nut

      April 17, 2014 at 6:04 pm

They are a pretty new company so my guess is that they will be expanding! They started in Chicago so already they have expanded to Minnesota and Denver!

  22. Diana @sosmallsostrong

    April 17, 2014 at 5:47 pm

I’m milk sensitive so I’d loooove to try this!!

Yes it blows my mind I can actually drink real milk!!

  23. Lisa

    April 17, 2014 at 11:16 pm

I bought the milk because MapMyRide sent me coupons. I didn’t realize it was lactose free initially but I really feel like my body handles it better than regular milk so I guess I am milk sensitive. It tastes great and has extra protein and great code dates.

    • Amanda aka Semi-Health Nut

      April 21, 2014 at 1:47 pm

I think a lot of adults are milk sensitive! Great to hear another rave review and another mention of the bonus longer expiration dates!

  24. Calli

    April 18, 2014 at 9:06 pm

I am lactose intolerant, mostly use almond milk and coconut milk, but I would try this one out too!

    • Amanda aka Semi-Health Nut

      April 21, 2014 at 1:46 pm

Yes I’ve just been drinking almond milk so it was great to find real milk without lactose!

  25. Meena R

    April 21, 2014 at 2:50 am

I love the taste of milk, but I seem to be on the border of lactose intolerant so drinking it and feeling good can be difficult. I would love to see how this milk is compared to others.

    • Amanda aka Semi-Health Nut

      April 21, 2014 at 1:45 pm

It worked for me, so hopefully it will for you!!
