Thankful Thursday Link-Up #2

November 14, 2013 by Amanda R DeWitt

First of all, thank you to everyone who participated in last week’s Thankful Thursday link-up!

30 Days of Thanks Challenge on Diary of a Semi-Health Nut

(Copy and paste the above code into your post for an easy way to link back and share the gratitude! :))

You might as well go over and read their lovely posts:

Emily at More Than Just Dessert

Nikki at Grab Your Kicks

Katie at Talk Less, Say More

Lauren at Sweat the Sweet Stuff

Oh and my blends Heather and Maria commented on what they were thankful for which made me smile as well. I just love all of the gratitude going on! And while some scoff or make fun of the whole giving thanks for the month of November thing, I’d like to say that if it helps you like it helps me, keep it up!

For those of you who are new to the blog or this challenge, head over to my original post to see the why and how. You can join in at any time!

I personally understand that a 30 day challenge is one of those things that it’s easy to get excited about at first, but as the days progress, it becomes harder to either remember to do or take the time to do. But it’s okay! You can always pick right up the next day.

Day 8: Thankful for the ability to pay for dental care..even though it isn’t always fun!

On this day I was potentially receiving another root canal (I had one two weeks previous) and was literally shaking scared about another one. Cool thing-just had to have the cavity removed plus I got to watch Princess Bride while it happened!

Day 9: As I posted on my Facebook page, this day was a toss-up between new tires and clean laundry

but I think I will go with the second one since the new tires thing didn’t actually happen. It will though!

Day 10: So thankful for a relaxing weekend with Dave.

It really was nice that neither of us had plans and we seriously just treated ourselves and relaxed all weekend. That doesn’t happen very often, but I love it when it does!

coffee lovers

Day 11: I thought about how grateful I am that there are people who are willing to lay down their lives for this country and in turn for me.

There is no way I would have the courage to do what they and their families do on a daily basis so I am truly thankful for that sacrifice.

Day 12: Yesterday I was thankful for my job.

I don’t have the most glamorous job as I’m “just” serving food, but I am learning about the fitness industry and gaining experience working with food. (good for a future dietitian!) Oh and I make myself delicious food and smoothies!

Day 13: Thankful for my mistakes!

They give me an opportunity to laugh at myself and/or learn from them (such as the goofy one I made while making this egg bake)!

It’s such a normal part of most people’s lives that we probably don’t take time to think about how much we appreciate it (although I do blame my show addictions on it since you can watch episode after episode…my current addiction is Breaking Bad..gah! can’t get enough!)

What about you? What are you thankful for? Link-up your posts and/or tell me in the comments! The more we share, the more we can each remember and appreciate the good things we have in our life! (PS Make sure to check out the original 30 Days of Thanks Challenge post to grab a button and see how you can join in the fun!)
