I spent a lot of time worrying and stressing this weekend even though there were many marvelous things happening.
I was somehow blinded by:
what I wanted–right then and there,
what wasn’t working,
cleaning up messes,
unanticipated shenanigans late into the night when I had articles due,
a blog transfer that isn’t going so smoothly…mainly due to the fact that apparently I was sent an e-mail in February of last year with information needed for the transfer that I don’t even remember receiving. (< seriously??)
There is something I am definitely still working on: being flexible. I have come a long way, but there are still those times when I should be focusing on the positive instead of letting the negative cloud my mind. So if you don’t mind, I am going to practice this positivity right now!
My weekend was filled with:
Great food.
Dave decided he wanted to make steak fajitas from scratch (seriously–he even made the seasoning from scratch) and holy cow did they turn out great! It took approximately half of the game to make them and the second half to clean it all up; it was serious business.
We also tried a new restaurant, Lakes Tavern and Grill where I got “The. Best. Burger. Ever.” I even made a pumpkin spiced skillet cookie with cinnamon glaze.
Ah-ma-zing.
Great people.
We had a friend come over who is also from Nebraska for the game and to help us eat the fajitas. Then we forced him into watching The New Girl with us. (I cannot get enough of that show!) After that we went to that new restaurant with a couple who was in town. They came back to our apartment where we played the Big Bang Theory board game, watched way too many YouTube videos and ate my delicious dessert.
Great football game. (Go Huskers!!)
Seriously, how awesome is it when your team is doing well?? As a Nebraskan, I am required to follow the Huskers no matter what (I think it’s somewhere in the state laws), but it was so fun watching the good plays and the “sacks” (I now know what a “sack” is). It also makes me feel more at home knowing that family in friends back in good ol’ Nebraska are watching the game at the same time. So cheesy, but so true!

A glorious walk on a gorgeous day.
Dave walked my normal trail with me for the first time since we have moved here. We moved here in June, by the way. I was excited to show him the new trail I found a couple of weeks ago until I realized that my “old” trail was new to him! It was a lovely fall day and I really enjoyed spending that time with him getting some exercise in the fresh air and being silly together.
So here’s to having a marvelous Monday and looking on the bright side of things!
Side note: if anyone can help me out with my Blogger transfer issue, it would make my day even better!! Basically we are just trying to figure out how to get my admin info without that original e-mail.
Something else I am so grateful for: blogging friends! Also known as blends! Visit my friend Katie to check out her Marvelous in my Monday link-up.

Transferring over your blog is definitely so frustrating, especially when you run into issues :(. BUT..it WILL work out!! Mine is finally switched over :).

Hooray! I’m so glad you got your issues worked out!! 🙂

I hear ya lady! It’s so easy to get caught up in the worrying and forget to look around and appreciate how lucky we really are. A weekend in Minnesota was exactly what I needed to let go. I am beyond jealous you get to live with all that beauty around you everyday. Hope all the blog stuff gets sorted out soon!

Thanks, girl! And let me know the next time you are in town! I’m glad you got some time to recharge! 🙂

So what’s the issue? Are you moving from Blogger to WordPress, I assume? Dot com or dot org?
Amanda aka Semi-Health Nut
Moving from Blogger to WordPress.org slash bluehost and I don’t have the admin information needed for when I bought my domain name through Blogger slash Google slash GoDaddy. It’s confusing as all get out and apparently this information is needed for the transfer…shoot me an e-mail if you have any ideas!! <3

I thought you went inside my head and stole my thoughts, Amanda! I’m doing my best to be patient with what life is throwing at me right now and yes of course I want a change right NOW, but patience and God’s timing will prevail. One day a time.
With me just changing my blog name and not re-directing like I should have, I’m the last person to give advice on blog stuff 🙂
Amanda aka Semi-Health Nut
Let’s keep praying for each other! It’s like when I think things are back to “normal” and “good” I get in my own head (or the adversary sneaks in)…ugh! Trying to stay positive!! Love you friend!!

Hey amanda! Urgh, my friend forced me to watch the new girl too… wasn’t a fan. I wanted to throw a pie in zoe dechanels face. Actually no not her face, her friend.
I recently moved from blogger to wordpress.com then wordpress.org- I’m no computer whiz but if you need a hand give me a shout- I’ll be happy to help you with my (limited) knowledge! 🙂
Amanda aka Semi-Health Nut
haha New Girls is VERY dry and weird and you have to love Zoey or one of the other characters to be able to watch it for sure! I can personally relate to how goofy and awkward she is so I think that’s how I got hooked.
If you know anything about finding admin login information…let me know! That’s what we are currently trying to figure out!

Oh man, sorry to hear you are having troubles! 🙁 It’ll get straightened out soon, tho, I’m sure!
Amanda aka Semi-Health Nut
I sure hope so! The only other option if I can’t find my dang admin info is changing the domain name..which isn’t terrible but would just stink for redirecting and all of my old pics have “semihealthyblog.com” on them, ya know?

haha I almost guarantee you saw Mark’s family at Lake’s. They go there all the time. It’s their favorite b/c they have all the customization options (unless this is a different place than what I’m thinking about …) .
sorry to hear about all the troubles you’ve been having. It’ll work out!

That’s awesome! We should try to all go together…if you are ever here when we are here!!

Sounds like you had a great week! I love that you made steak fahitas entirely from scratch, I am not surprised they tasted amazing! Oh, and I know EXACTLY what you mean about the worrying….I have been doing that so much the last few weeks, that now I do not have anything to worry about, I cant shut my mind off! I need to take a note from your book about being flexible! Thanks for sharing 🙂

Working out helps relieve anxiety a lot! I’ve recently found out even doing some push-ups or lunges when I’m super tense gets some of that anxious energy out of me.
Thanks for reading!
