A Peanut-Butter-Chocolatey Giveaway!

July 25, 2013 by Amanda R DeWitt

Yesterday I tricked myself again.  I mean you’d think I would wise up to my own ways, but I haven’t.

I went out for a walk that really turned into a good run-with-some-walking.  I tricked myself by saying “it’s just a walk” and “you only have to go a mile.”

These things make me all the more happy when I actually go further and pick up my feet for a bit of running.  It gets me out the door and that’s what counts, right?

It was gorgeous out.  70s, breezy, a little cloudy, but that made for some pretty pictures.  Because with lovely scenery like I get to experience nowadays you can bet I halt my run and bust out my camera phone.

Guess what I ate right before my refreshing run-walk?

Something truly divine.
Something I sat down and savored.
Something that reminded me of sneaking semi-sweet chocolate chips when my mom was making her famous cookies.  That slightly bitter taste of chocolate melting in my mouth.…but with a bit of nut and saltiness added to that familiar flavor.

I had an organic, gluten free (yes, I checked this time), GMO-free (no weird stuff added), dark chocolate Justin’s Peanut Butter cup.

Oh yes.  If you’ve heard of Justin’s or you purchase his nut butter, you probably know what an upstandingly green company it is that puts out the best quality products.

The fact that he decided to pair his amazing peanut butter with chocolate is nothing short of genius.  I definitely a fan of this combo and have even tried to recreate it myself, but never in this healthy of a manner.

These wonderful cups come in dark chocolate and milk chocolate.  It was perfect that they sent both flavors so that Dave wouldn’t steal my dark chocolate cups and likewise Dave could keep the milk chocolate ones for himself.  I mean normally I would hide something delicious so that it won’t get taken….kidding!  (or am I??)

Let’s Break it Down:

Likes:
Organic ingredients–high quality product
Gluten free for my poor gluten intolerant friends
No GMOs or (no weird stuff, remember)
100 calorie servings
Decadent dark chocolate
Green company–very environmentally conscious
Great people.  I cannot stress enough how much one can tell about a company just by e-mailing back and forth with a rep.  I’ve now worked with two of the reps and they have been delightful.  The social media reps are also responsive on their respective platforms which makes the company all the more loveable.

Slight Dislikes:
Sometimes the inside texture is a bit crumbly.  But probably because it’s made with real nuts without a bunch of added oils and sugar like a typical peanut butter cup.
Price.  I’m cheap and I know quality ingredients come at a higher price, but sometimes it does deter me from buying the good stuff.

Anyhow, one lucky reader will win one caddy of single milk chocolate peanut butter cups (10 total) and another caddy of dark chocolate.
So you can share with a friend…right?

Enter below for a chance to win!
a Rafflecopter giveaway

And while you wait for the winner to be announced (next week), you can check out Justin’s on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest.
You can also view local stores that sell Justin’s via this convenient link.
Good luck friends!

*~Amanda aka Semi-Health Nut~*

PS Do you know what else is delicious?  You’ve Got Mail with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan.  (did you expect that one?)  I’ve been listening watching it as I type up this post.  I can never get through it without tearing up!

Disclaimer: I was given samples to review, but as always, my opinions are my own.

If I actually decided to be generous and share – or better yet: was still able to after having a first taste-test and likely getting totally addicted – I’d give some of the milk chocolate ones to my sister. Because she likes Reese’s PB cups but they’re hard to find around here, because she’s about to get married and these would make an fantastic additional gift and simply because she’s awesome.
