I’m happy to say I’ve kept up so far with my workout plan. Not that it is too hard or strict….it’s just a start in the right direction!
Let’s jump right into the things I’ve been eating lately.
(More information on WIAW or What I Ate Wednesday here.)
{Breakfast} I tragically ran out of bread for a couple of days, so I had to substitute with cereal. I am particularly fond of a mixture of Kashi fiberlicious cereal and sugary marshmallow cereal.
{Post-workout refueling} After my Monday run (a lovely run aside from the fact that I was attacked by a bird…three times!!), I was famished (and shook up). I have been craving smoothies but we realized that Dave left the blender at his parent’s house.
What was a girl to do?? I decided to try to make a smoothie with the strawberries I had left in the fridge…in the food processor!
It was a great success, although it wasn’t the frozen consistency of my usual smoothies. Thus I dubbed this concoction a “milkshake.”
- 8-10 juicy strawberries, hulled (optional: cut in half)
- 3/4 cup unsweetened Silk almond milk
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (non-dairy or casein protein for lactose sensitive)
- optional:
- ~2-3 ice cubes
- ~small spoon-full of frosting or powdered sugar to make it into dessert!
{Lunch} Fresh and spicy salad with baby kale + romaine + sweet bell peppers + turkey + pepper-jack cheese with a side of salsa-ranch. Very similar to my sandwich from last week…remember, I was out of bread! 😉
{Dinner} PIZZA! I am in love with Archer Farms pizzas! They had them on sale at Target–buy 3 get 1 half off, so we loaded up! Last night we had Genoa Salami with Spicy Peppers and added even more spice to it with pepper-jack cheese.
The perfect compliment to the pizza was a fresh romaine salad with Dorothy Lynch dressing. Have you heard of the stuff? It’s made in Nebraska and you can hardly find it anywhere but there! Dave’s mom thoughtfully bought us a bottle to bring with us to Minnesota. It tastes like home.
I also bought some deliciously juicy grapes…how I love fresh produce! Did you know when I was little I didn’t even like grapes? This just goes to show you that it’s important to re-try foods as an adult!
{Dessert} Our oven does work now (yippee!), but I bought another pack of break-and-bake cookie dough because it was so stinkin’ good. I added some Blue Diamond lightly salted almonds and some dark Godiva chocolates to this dough ball.
Okay now I’m hungry for second breakfast after reviewing all of my eats! Have a great Wednesday all!
What is your favorite sugary cereal?
What seasonal produce would you recommend buying right now?

I never would have guessed that that was a frozen pizza. It looks SO good! I will have to check them out the next time that I am at Target.

Yes you have to! I’ve tried two different kinds and they were both AMAZING!

I just got into almond milk and LOVE it! I’m not sure what cereal would be my favorite. When I was little, we were only allowed to have cheerios. I guess I would go for the Nestle brand, which would turn the milk into chocolate milk 🙂

That’s the best part about the sugary cereals…the tasty milk afterwards! 😉

Weeee!!! I won! Thanks, friend!! I sent you an email! 🙂
Now, about your eats, I love that you made your smoothie in the food processor…I’ve been tempted to do that when my blender was still in a box somewhere.

I’m surprised you don’t have Dorothy Lynch up there! How odd when you’re not even that far away! (Well, relatively speaking.)
I’ve actually never tried the Archer Farms pizza. Might need to!
Amanda aka Semi-Health Nut
Yes definitely try the pizza!! I think Dave enjoys asking for Dorothy Lynch just to get a reaction out of the server lol
