I am sitting here in my dad’s basement Sunday evening at 11pm, very exhausted, waiting for my laundry to be done and thinking how blessed I am. And how seldom I believe myself to be so.
I got to head to my hometown where I was surrounded by people all weekend. While normally that is overwhelming to me (okay I did take a nap or two), I thouroughly enjoyed it.
Friday started off with me and sister Courtney working out together. It’s been awhile since we’ve done that (since before Mr. Aaron Sanchez was born!!), so it was great sister bonding time, not to mention I got a good sweat in. I was actually still sore today from the workout!!
Saturday I got to babysit the cutie pie twins. Oh.my.gosh. they are too stinkin’ cute! It’s been a couple of months since I’ve seen them and now they talked my ears off! They were like little parrots, repeating everything I said. I was seriously sad I had to put them to bed because we were having so much fun watching the Lion King, making rawring noises, and watching them name various objects in books.
I also got to help Dave (the BF) get the last bit of his belongings moved out since his roommate just got married AND Dave lives in hotels anyhow so it was getting ridiculous paying for a place that he’s only in 4 days a month. As we stood in the empty room that was his bedroom for the past two years, it was a little scary, wondering what will come next.
He’s been “moved” from Council Bluffs, Ia to Nowhere, Nebraska to Kansas City to most recently St. Paul Minnesota. While I had some serious anxiety issues with this move last week (KC is only 2.5 hours away where St. Paul is 6 hours from me), I’m looking at this as another adventure. Our relationship certainly hasn’t been boring since Dave started working for the rail road!
We are really just hoping he gets placed somewhere permanently. That way I have the option of moving to where he is…now I couldn’t if I wanted to because he doesn’t even have a location to move to!
While I was sad to see him go, I have faith that God will bring us back together again. It’s hard to know what the heck He (God) is doing up there, but I do know that he has a plan for us and that it will be bigger and better than we ever could imagine! I am so grateful Dave got a great job right out of college and thankful that I have the opportunity to attend college (with or without ginormous student loans piling up).
Tonight I get to stay at my dad’s house because of ill planning and weather, but as you can tell with the words “get to” I’m not too upset over that. My laundry is now finished so I can head to sleep soon. I have to head out at 6:30am to make it to my 8am class from here, but there’s only one week left of classes, then finals and I’m done with the semester!
Although I don’t have any classes in May, it’s already packed with fun things like my first half-marathon, weddings, Blend Retreat 2013 and some charity walk/runs. I also have some cleaning/organizing projects and books I want to read so look out May! I will also most likely visit Dave and hopefully spend more time with family.
Looking forward to all of the blessings ahead and focusing on all the good in my life today. 3>
Happy Monday all!
This post is being linked up to the amazingly positive gal Katie at Healthy Diva Eats. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to link-up to her happy posts and get inspired by other positive posts!

Glad you had a wonderful weekend with loved ones girl! I hope Dave gets a permanent stay somewhere soon, I can’t imagine how stressful that is for him and it will be nice when he does so you can go be with him! I know things will work out soon!
Wish I was going to BLEND! Have a blast when you do! <3
Thanks so much Katie!! <3
I’m not sure about this whole Blend thing…haha JUST KIDDING JUST KIDDING! I can’t FREAKING WAIT! 🙂
Good luck with your last week of classes! I’m sending you lots of positive thoughts!
hehe I loved this! Can’t flippin wait to see you again! 🙂
Great to hear that you had such a wonderful weekend with everyone you truly do care and love! I know it may be hard right now with Dave not having a permanent job, but this time apart will only continue to make your relationship grow that much stronger <3 <3
Goodness I hope so!! Thanks for the encouragement, Jessie!

sounds like a great weekend. and yay for twins 😉
haha YAY twins!!
That sounds like a wonderful weekend (and the twins are adorable!) I feel your difficulty not being able to spend as much time with Dave as you would like, it’s been about a month now since I’ve seen the BF (with a few more weeks to go) and his life is so up in the air right now we can’t really make solid plans 🙁 It makes the whole relationship better in the end though, right?
Oh goodness I should stop complaining looking at how long you and the BF have been apart! It’s frustrating right?? We can only hope it will get better though!!
And I have to admit, it’s pretty great when I finally DO get to see him! 🙂

We did the long distance thing after Brandon graduated college (I was a year behind him) and of course it wasn’t ideal, but we made it work…even though we were on separate sides of the U.S.! But your quote is so perfect – God’s Plan is to be trusted. It always works out how it’s supposed to.
It is reassuring to know that it does work out for people! And you totally made me smile because the quote is actually just my words. 🙂

Aww, this post made me smile! You and Dave have certainly been through a lot as far as all the traveling and being apart, but it’s so great that you always find a way to make it work! And you two are like the cutest couple ever! xoxo
Can’t wait to see you in a few weeks!! Good luck on your finals! 😀
haha thanks friend!! 🙂 Can’t wait to see YOU!!

waiiiiiiiit … Dave is in St. Paul (for good?) now?? I am e-mailing you!
Okay, i re-read and he’s not there for good? I’m crossing my fingers he gets in there because I think you’d really like the cities, and there are LOTS of opportunities there (people are super into health and fitness … almost like CO).
That’s what it seemed like from what Dave was saying, “Um there are two people on rollerblades…just rollerblading down the street.” LOL
