Dear future roomie,
This post goes out to the lovely lady whom I will be living with in a matter of days! You might also enjoy this if you are new to reading my blog since it tells you most of what you will need to know about me and my life!
Things you need to know:
- I am a Christian gal. I never push “religion” (I actually kind of hate that word) but I love Jesus and strive to live out my faith in loving others.
- You will often find KLove on my radio and/or hear me singing those songs in the shower. (Don’t worry, I will try not to sing when you’re sleeping or have company. ;))
- I like to run, but I run slow.
- I have a lot of blends. What is a blend you say? A blogger friend! Some of them I haven’t even met yet and still call the my friends, and others I meet up with at random times just because.
- I am a new aunt and I can’t get over how precious my nephew is.
- I will probably travel “home” most weekends because otherwise I will miss my family too much.
- I will very likely talk your ear off about my guy Dave because I kinda like him a whole lot.
- I am obsessed with learning about health and fitness. Seriously, I get giddy in my nutrition classes and will research and research health topics until all of my questions are answered. Did I mention I’m a Dietetics major?
- I am cold all the time. You can say it’s from how little I am, but I think it’s from bad circulation that runs in my family. I’ve always been super self-concious about shaking hands because my fingers are like skinny ice cubes.
- Sometimes I have bad days. I’ve dealt with mild depression and anxiety my whole life, but do my best to keep those negative feelings at bay. (Blogging helps a lot!!)
- When I get tired or stressed (or depressed or anxious)…I value sleep over cleaning. (Poor sleep tends to be one of the triggers for my not-so-happy times, so it’s super important for me!) It’s not that I will stop cleaning completely..but maybe I will go to bed and clean up in the morning.
- I value communication very highly in all of my relationships, and that includes my roommate! Please tell me if something ever bothers you and I will try to do the same. I really hope we can be froomates! (Friend + Roommates..?)
- I can be a bit of a dork. See previous bullet.
- I bake a lot. As you know I am even bringing my own baking cabinet! It can get messy, but I promise I will clean it up…hopefully in a timely manner!
- If all else fails…I will give you cookies to make you like me again.

I’m grateful for the way things worked out and excited to be your roomie!
Amanda aka Semi-Health Nut
What do you think…would you live with me?
Loved that you dedicated your blog to me! I appreciate your honesty and now know we have a lot in common and share some of the same values. I’m excited for you to get officially moved in! In the meantime I thought it’s only fair that I give you some bullet points on me.
I am obsessed with TRYING to be healthy. I succeed and fail just like everyone else but in the process I count every morsel of food that touches my lips and log every mile I run. I love talking about health and nutrition so when I ask, ‘how was your day?’ You gotta tell me everything from class!
I LOVE music, especially rock music. It is my medication. But I’ll try and keep it down.
I’m a Jesus fan as well and I think we’re on the same level there. I have two super awesome churches I rotate between and I’d love a roomie church date if you ever want to join
me!
I need control of the remote when the news is on but after that it’s all yours. It’s a bit annoying because I flip to every station to see their top story.
I may be (very) single but I LOVE love so you can gush about Dave all you want!
I’m going to need your help not eating all your baked goods! I have a major sweet tooth and am not used to being around fresh made baked goods at home. If I’m sad ask me to go on a walk or get some coffee but don’t bake me anything!
Never heard of froomates but I want to be yours! And don’t worry, you’re not alone on dork island.
haha looks like this will work out well! 🙂 I have some tips and tricks for keeping my sweet tooth at bay so hopefully I can help you with that! Otherwise I LOVE walking! 😉
I’m glad you have churches you like because that’s something I want to get back into. I might be back “home” and go to church there but I will definitely join you when I can! 🙂
Now I’m even more excited to move in!! Yay!!

While I am unconditionally in love with my current roomie (haha!) and wouldn’t trade him for the world, I am jealous of yours 🙂 Sometimes it’s like a 24/7 sleepover that my 22 year old self appreciates.
haha aw you’re sweet Maria! 🙂

haha you could totally be my roomie! And gee, I have an extra room. So if you ever decide to transfer …
🙂 I hope the move went smoothly!
haha I will definitely keep that in mind! And I won’t leave a smell on the couch like your current roommate…cause I have things to do like go to class and work haha! 😉
that comment totally just made my day. 🙂 But seriously. if you ever consider transferring (ISU is hella cheap tuition, btw — it’s my goal to get one of my blends to come here.)

Okay so this is freaking adorable and I think you already know I’d be your roomie as a few Blend weekends have proven. AND you can make me cookies anytime! 🙂
hehe we’ve even shared a bed now 😉 although we are both so small I didn’t even notice you were there until my alarm went off and I felt bad it woke you up.
super cute!!
Thanks cinnamon!

This is GREAT! Having just had an old roommate move out, and a new one move in, I might need to write up something like this myself. [Although technically we sort of lived together before…but that was in a sorority house.]
I also am happy to learn more about you. I have bad days, too, and it is something that new roommates often find shocking about me, especially because the first time I meet people (as you know) I tend to me SUPER outgoing and chatty and excited. But I can turn inside of myself quickly when I am at home.
I think it’s helpful to be open and honest because, well, you’ll be living under the same roof for a period of time together! It is interesting that you have an introverted side since you are super bubbly in person! But I think a lot of bloggers have that side…that’s why we blog. 😉
