Although it’s been a challenge to keep up on thankful thoughts each day this month (you’re talking to a natural skeptic-worry-wart), I’m glad I started this challenge for myself.
A friend on Facebook commented today that she was tired of hearing all the things people are thankful for. I completely disagree.
If you are tired of hearing the good that people have going on in their lives then you are probably on Facebook too much. In my opinion, Facebook is a good mix of whining, funny pictures, whitty comments and life bragging.
And this month Facebook is intertwined with people reflecting on their lives in order to understand all of the things that they really do have. The things that we tend to forget about in our day-to-day lives. The things that we take for granted, that most of the world don’t have. If for one month I’m flooded with Thankfulness on Facebook…I will take it!!
I love hearing what you all are thankful for! You can participate via Facebook, Twitter, comment on any of my Thankful Thursday posts or blog about it and link-up here!*
Also check out my first show-off post with days 1-8…yes I did create a graphic for each day. No, I did not do that this time. I blame Chemistry (as a general rule).
Day 9: Thankful to know God takes care of me and is always by my side…whether I realize it or not. I’ve been feeling a little far away from him right now…I haven’t been as diligent with my bible reading, haven’t gone to church in awhile, but He will never leave me.
1 Chronicles 16:34
Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.
Day 10: Thankful for my warm cozy bed and fluffy pillows.
Day 11: Thankful for free internet! (Living at the Daddio’s.)
Day 12: I’m thankful for my health! No chronic diseases or even so much as a cold right now!
Day 13: I am thankful for cookies!!
Seriously, my all time favorite dessert. (Have you seen the semi-healthy whole wheat chocolate peanut chip oat cookies I’ve been obsessing over lately?) My sister Courtney and I were talking the other night and I think my love of cookies comes from my mom who would make Susie’s Famous Chocolate Chip cookies almost weekly. I used to have the recipe memorized when I lived with her but somehow forgot it along the way. It involves Crisco and they are glorious!
Day 14: I am thankful to have a warm coat, gloves, scarves and boots!! I sure needed them the past couple of days!!
I even have a bunch of cute scarves. I love scarves. I think I need to figure out how to make them.
Day 15: I am thankful for my job as a babysitter!
Who would have thought that I’d ever be grateful for all of the experience I gained watching my younger siblings? It was tough to be stuck at home in the summers, but watching kids became second nature. I started volunteering at the church nursery because it just seemed like somewhere I could help easily.
Okay, it’s not always easy, but it’s just something that I was so used to. Plus little kids can be friggin cute.
I get to watch a wee little gal a couple of days a week now and although it was rough at first (she cried most of the first two weeks because she didn’t really know anyone but her mom…she even cried for her dad so it wasn’t just me!), but now it’s so amazing watching her learn new things. She is a completely different baby since a month ago…it’s crazy how fast they grow!
*I’d love for you to participate in the link-up! Please just make sure you link back to my blog and I’d love for you to use the 30 Days of Thanks Challenge graphic as well!

It kind of blows my mind that someone wouldn’t like people sharing what they’re thankful for. What’s wrong with them?!
