Very fitting for this month’s WIAW theme.
What is WIAW? It stands for What I Ate Wednesday. This is basically a peak into my food (and fitness and fun) life on one day out of the week.
It doesn’t have to be the food I ate on Wednesday, however this is the day of the week we share on Jenn’s fun link-party!
(Check out my WIAW page for what WIAW means to me.)
{Breakfast} Peanutbutter toast. The usual!
Got outside and ran in the heat after finishing a guest post for a friend. I keep telling myself I will run earlier in the day…must remember it’s hot at 1pm!!
I wore the best outfit ever. Pink tank, green shorts and turquoise shoes. Can we say “laundry day?”
{Post-workout} Protein shake with almond milk. Have you ever tried almond milk? It is amazing!
{Lunch} Chobani Greek Yogurt (P.S. Giving away a case of this stuff! Last day is today!!) with lots of granola
{Dinner} We met some friends at Outback Steakhouse.
Joe, Emily, Rhea |
Aren’t they the cutest family? I want to steal Emily’s dress! (And Rhea!)
Appetizer: Avacado, Crabmeat, tomatoes and chips.
The creamy avacado and textured crabmeat were perfect.
I also tried this stuff on the rye bread.
Joe was laughing at how Dave (BF) and I got a “healthy” appetizer, while they got the most unhealthy app on the menu. “Share this on your health blog!”
There ya go Joe! The bloomin onion is now on my blog! 😉 |
Dinner: I had the seafood special. Yep, at a steakhouse…I chose the seafood.
The shrimp and scallops were delicious as was the sauce that came with it. (I took the rest of it home, in fact.) The fish…well, tasted like lake water. Not that I drink lake water regularly, but you have to admit, you know what I mean when I say “lake water.”
Since Outback Steakhouse is an Australian restaurant, Emily asked if she could order “shrimp on the Ken.” Anyone? Shrimp on the “Barbie”…shrimp on the Ken. I thought it was funny…
Dave (BF) also ordered a Watermelon Rita..which turned out to be 8.50 and not amazing.
It sure looked cute though!
Restaurant evaluation: Meh.
I enjoyed the company (my friends and BF), most of the food was pretty good, however it was a bit overpriced and the staff was kind of a joke. I can say this because I’ve been a waitress since I was 19, by the way. I probably won’t be going back anytime soon.
Squinty eyes! Me and Dave |
Dessert: I had a cadbury egg at Dave’s house. Yes, Easter candy. 🙂
Evaluation of my day:
- Happy I got a run in.
- Glad I got some veggies.
- Need more fruit and more water!
Have you ever waited tables? Do you feel you judge the staff having worked at a restaurant?
What’s your drink of choice?
P.S. Make sure you enter my giveaway!! Last day!! 🙂
