Happy 4th of July! (again!)
Well hey there again friends!
I kind of want these 1970s patriotic shoes 😉 |
Not only am I sharing some amazing no-bake oreo balls today, but I am also sharing a W.I.A.W. {What. I. Ate. Wednesday.} with you as well!
The theme for this month could not be more perfect for my day yesterday, so I just had to join the W.I.A.W. party today!
(More info on my W.I.A.W. posts here.)
Breakfast: Peanutbutter toast on slightly stale bread. It makes good toast, but it has a super funky texture.
Lunch: Chobani yogurt with granola. I ate this delightful meal outdoors…for about 10 minutes.
(P.S. Have you entered my Chobani giveaway?? A whole case of Chobani yogurt!!)
I had this idea that I would get a little sun and vitamin D but I had to actually push myself to stay out in the heat.
I don’t know about where you live, but here in Nebraska, we’ve been in heat advisories every stinkin day!
Fitness: After lunch, and after cooling off, I decided to try some of the yoga moves from Shape Magazine as well as some core moves…on that pink beach towel while watching Friends. 😉
My abs are sore today so I’d say the workout was a success!
Snack: Salty blue corn chips with flaxseed and cottage cheese about an hour before the 4th of July party I attended.
I am loving Archer Farms food! |
Semi-healthy tip: Don’t go to parties hungry! Or thirsty! Drink plenty of water and have a snack before leaving and you won’t be tempted to sample EVERYTHING on the dessert table. 😉
Treat: I had to test the yummy Peanutbutter Chocolate Chip Golden Oreo Truffles I made for the shindig.
Dinner: Part of a burger, fresh corn salad and strawberry spinach salad (very sweet!).
Dessert: Dark Chocolate Pomegranate pieces. These were particularly interesting to me because it showed an open pomegranate on the front…which has seeds similar to kernels that you can’t eat very well but they were chewy.
Snacks: I munched on some grapes and carrots for most of the evening.
Fun: I chilled by the pool (it was still boiling out) and caught up with the BF’s cousins. Then watched some of them blow up a watermelon and shoot off crazy amounts of fireworks.
I think I’m going to do my toes today… |
It’s funny because he is actually out of town and I hung out with his family last night and am going to again tonight. I really miss him when he’s gone on holidays! It’s just not the same…
Overall I’d say I had a pretty good day Food, Fitness and Fun-wise.
Check out more of the WIAW fun at Jenn’s Peas and Crayons blog. 🙂
Have a safe 4th of July! Stay hydrated and try to remember what we are really celebrating…Independence Day! 🙂
How do you celebrate the 4th of July?
What are you most thankful for today?
