Well I feel like I haven’t had a moment to breathe this weekend…although that is probably an exageration. I am alive, afterall.
Friday I was talking on the phone with the BF (who was on his way home!) and I started squealing and saying, “It’s here! It’s here!”
I could see from my window that my Chobani greek yogurt case had arrived.
(Get excited for a giveaway coming soon!!)
The baby robin outside my window watched me rearrange the fridge and cram all the Chobani greek yogurt inside.
When the BF got into town we went to an outdoor 4th of July concert.
We parked at a friend’s house about a mile away so we got a good walk in that night.
They blocked off the main road for 20 minutes afterwards so people could walk to their cars! |
A very tipsy lady fell on me during the fireworks and felt bad so I got a free glow in the dark necklace out of it. #winning
There were fireworks at the end of the night which was great since the BF is going to be working on the 4th of July. (I know, stinks right?)
Saturday I worked at the Farmer’s Market and it. was. toasty.
It helps to have entertainment and see friends when it is miserably hot out.
I get kind of crabby when I’m hot and schweaty. I also get really sleepy and surprisingly un-hungry. Can anyone else relate?
I got home, showered and took a nap to try to get rid of an awful headache I had.
Then hung out with the BF for the night, watching plenty of Netflix.
We went to an amazing church service in the morning.
It was one of those mornings where I just wanted to sleep and be lazy, but it’s almost like those times when you really don’t want to workout but you know you should and you also know that you never regret a workout.
Well, I never regret going to church, having time to worship and hear an encouraging word from our pastor.
After church, I headed home in the BF’s trailblazer (he had his dad’s Harley…in 100 degree weather…I will never understand that) to make some treats to bring to a BBQ.
Surprise picture |
They turned out awesome (they were gone in literally 5 minutes) and you can be sure I will be making more and posting the recipe!
The BBQ was for a friend from church who is leaving for a year to go help out at a discipleship camp (if you will) called Patmos. It’s truly inspiring to see someone have a heart for God and for helping people…enough to leave home for a year to serve others. He will be missed!
Friend who’s leaving (Dirk) and BF (Dave) |
After the BBQ, I went home to shower (we were outside a lot…have I told you it was hot this weekend?) and do my Foodie Penpals post which was already a day late.
Then it was time to see a movie (Men in Black III…good movie!) with some friends. This couple just got engaged (Facebook official yesterday lol) and it was fun catching up with them after the movie and learning that he proposed in a hot air balloon that was actually on the ground!
I then proceeded to fall asleep while the BF did laundry and watched Married with Children. Good times.
Now I am home! And I think it’s time to clean up the house. Poor Daddio. I can be a terrible roommate at times. :-/
I’m glad it was super busy though because I have about zero plans for this week. Hoorah.
Hope you all enjoy your holiday!
Love and Blessings,
What did you do this weekend?
Do you ever get excited to get packages in the mail?
