{WIAW #17} Valentine’s Day Eats

February 15, 2012 by Amanda R DeWitt

Hello Friends!

I hope everyone had a lovely Valentine’s Day!  Or perhaps you just want everyone to shut-up about the whole thing?  Well maybe come back tomorrow because this WIAW episode is all about what I had to eat yesterday on V-day.

WIAW {What. I. Ate. Wednesday.}

I like to give people a break down of how I ate all day just for ideas on how to space meals/snacks.  It works for me so it might just work for you too!  (More info on what my WIAW posts are all about here.)

{Breakfast: 9am} Peanutbutter toast with some hearty new bread.

{Lunch: 12pm} Almost forgot to eat before class!  And it is essential that I do because my Chemistry class is three hours long!

I enjoyed some leftover pasta.  Whole wheat shells and ground turkey, prego chunky pasta sauce, chopped up peppers, and mozzarella cheese.

Want to hear a cool story about a pound of ground turkey?  You do?

Well we used half of it on our Kashi pizza, then used it to fill some inside out pizzas, and used the filling to top my pasta.

Inside out pizza from last week

Three different but amazing meals from one pound of ground turkey.

Honestly I felt like I was in biblical times where Jesus fed 5000 people and still picked up baskets of leftover bread.

{Snack: 2pm} I brought some decorated pretzels from my cake-pop making extravaganza and diet dew to class and it definitely helped keep me sane.  It was Chemistry class…I will take all the help I can get!

{Snack: 5pm} Well I didn’t finish the pasta for lunch and it sounded like the perfect apres-school food so I demolished the rest.

I received this bunch of lovelies from the BF.  The thing is bigger than me!  And smells heavenly.  I took some time to take pictures this morning since the light was beautiful.

I am a sucker for pink flowers.

{Dinner: 8pm} The BF and had some romantic leftovers while watching Cupcake Wars and Chopped on the Food Network.  Who could ask for more?

My dinner was a fish taco with a side of mexican rice and refried beans plus a side of carrot chips.  Seriously hit the spot.  The beans and rice were amazing mixed together.

I also had a delightfully bubbly sparkling cranberry ocean spray.

{Dessert} I had a cake-pop.  Yes, the BF stuck a carrot in it and arranged the sprinkles so it looked like a face.

BF had one of the cake balls I made for him.

After I kicked the BF out, I finished my evening with wine in the tub (got the idea from Jenn) while watching How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.  Perfection.

Now it is time for me to get working on my nutrition 250 assignment.  It is due this week and of course I have been procrastinating…but mostly because I know it will be simple since the assignment is to take 3 days of “24 hour recalls” of my food intake.  Thank you WIAW. 😉

Have a great Wednesday!
