I hope your week has been great! Mine has been alright…getting over being sick and starting Chemistry class, plus working at both jobs has made for a semi-hectic week. But my “sick day” was a good day of rest where I spent the day hangin with the BF watching food network for hours on end so I really can’t complain can I?
Plus on Fridays I don’t usually work until 11 so I got a full 8 hours of sleep last night. I just love sleep, don’t you?? Did you know that people who sleep more tend to weigh less? Just another reason to get your sleep on!
Throughout the week I read many wonderful blogs, food blogs, mommy blogs (don’t judge, I will be a mommy some day), home blogs, craft blogs…and I like to showcase my favorite food finds each week. I chose to only pick 5 each week because seriously, there are many talented people out there that I would have waayyy too many foodie ideas. It takes me long enough to talk about 5 of my finds. 🙂
So I give to you my Friday Five Foodie Finds this week! Enjoy!
1.
Krissy’s Creations’ Gingerbread Biscotti
Biscottis are quite possibly my favorite treat after cookies. I’ve made them a couple of times and even have a recipe that I’ve modified to perfection. I got excited when I saw these because of my love of biscottis AND I have some gingerbread mix in the cupboard that I’ve been wondering what to do with.
2.
Allrecipes.com’s Peppermint Biscotti
Biscottis on the mind? Yes. Yes they are. I actually found a beautiful picture of peppermint biscottis that I put on my Christmas Foodie Ideas board but alas when I clicked on the picture (to get to the original site) I could not find the recipe or even the picture! So what did I do. Googled it of course! I found a recipe for it but you have to see the original pinterest photo. Maybe you can find the original recipe for me?
*Sigh.* Lovely.
3.Fit Foodie Find’s Gluten-Free Raspberry Oat Bars
Remember last week when I said I follow blogs for their photography? Well not only do I love Lee’s photography, but she always has super healthy food that I get excited about trying. Truth be told, I am not a big berry person (have you seen a single berry on my blog yet?), but I would love to try this recipe…just based on this picture. 😉
4.
Iowa Girl Eat’s Homemade Chicken Dumpling Soup
And here’s more lovely photography for you. I may or may not be obsessed with this gal’s writing as well as her recipes and photography. Proof? I had a dream that I was at a dinner party with her and Paula Deen and afterwards I was upset because I didn’t get pictures with them to share on my blog.
I have never attempted homemade dumplings before, but it is feeling awfully wintry here and this seems like the perfect cold-day soup.
5.
Baked Perfection’s Candy Cane Blossoms
Here’s another one I found on pinterest. I am a sucker for pretty cookies and trying new things and for this recipe you get to color your own sugar! I am pretty sure I did not know that was possible but I am definitely going to try this.
I said on my post Wednesday that I was going to make cake pops that night but alas, this girl was tired. We have rescheduled for this Saturday (tomorrow) and I’m super excited! I will have to make a couple of cakes in preparation today so that is going on my to-do list.
I also really want to make the BF dinner since I feel like I haven’t made a real home-made from-scratch recipe in awhile. Possibly since my Turkey Loaf…is that possible?? Any recommendations? I guess I have my list of Friday Five Foodie Finds that I can go through for ideas. Very convenient! 🙂
If your post was featured, feel free to grab a button! I worked very hard to figure out how the heck to make these things but I did not let them get the best of me. 😉
Simply copy-paste the code onto your blog and voila! Magical blog button!
Have a lovely weekend friends!
Also stay tuned for my recipe for Candy Bar Cookies from my WIAW post.
Are you a mint person? The BF and Daddio don’t like mint so I get to eat all of the mint/peppermint goodies I make. 🙂
What are you up to this weekend?
More importantly…what’s for dinner??
